We merely walked a stretch of road together, so why make the nostalgia longer than the journey itself. ——Matchbox

Went to a colleague's house over the weekend, and his son insisted on putting the cut-off pineapple top in a goblet to play with. To coax him, the colleague added soil and water to the glass and told him this was a little life that had to be cared for properly. Unexpectedly, 11 months later, it actually grew a little pineapple. So amazing!

A pineapple growing in a goblet?

There is only so much soil and water in a goblet. How could it really bear fruit in just 11 months? It did indeed bear fruit, but what grew was an ultra-tiny pineapple,

very small and very mini~

After the fruit ripens, it looks even smaller~

This kind of fruit is only for ornamental purposes and cannot be eaten. Below, Huahua will teach everyone how to grow edible pineapples!

Cut off a pineapple top, throw it in water, and it bears fruit in 3 years

1. For a newly bought pineapple, cut off the pineapple top at the junction between the leaves and the fruit. This is called the crown.

You can see round dots on the cut surface. These round dots are root primordia, and roots can grow from these spots later!

2. Carefully tear off the small leaves at the bottom to expose the white part, then place it in a ventilated place to dry for two days.

3. Find a clean transparent cup, fill it with water, and put the crown in it. The bottom should touch the water slightly, but do not fully submerge it in water, otherwise it will easily rot.

4. Place the pineapple top in a spot with indirect light and change the water once a day. If the temperature is suitable, it can take root in 2~3 weeks. After rooting, there is no need to change the water frequently; just change it each time the water becomes cloudy.

5. When the roots grow to 3~5cm long, it can be transplanted and planted

. The flowerpot must have good drainage. Use a soil mix of garden soil, peat soil, and river sand. Before planting, apply a little rooting powder to the root stem, and water thoroughly after planting.

6. First place it in a ventilated and shady place to recover, and start exposing it to light after one week. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and start applying thin fertilizer after 2 months.

7. During growth, the original leaves will gradually turn brown and wither. These leaves should be pulled off, and new leaves will slowly grow. When the plant becomes larger, it needs to be repotted.

8. In winter, place it indoors to keep it warm and ensure sufficient light. In 1~3 years, it will bear pineapples.

Tips:

When growing the crown of an edible pineapple, after bearing fruit once, it can continue to bear fruit for several years, and the larger the flowerpot, the sweeter the fruit!

Alright, Huahua will introduce it to everyone here,

After reading this, don't you also really want to grow a pot of pineapple?

Then hurry up and give it a try
