How to grow strawberries from seed? A detailed guide to the planting method

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Soak the seeds in water for 1 day, then place them in a low-temperature environment in the refrigerator for about 15 days. After that, rub the seeds clean in warm water and soak them again. Once most of the seeds have split and shown white, they are ready to sow. When sowing, scatter the seeds evenly over the soil, cover with a thin layer of soil, water them, and place them in a warm spot for care. Once 3 to 5 true leaves have grown, they can be transplanted and set out.

I. Preparation before germination

Before sowing, wrap the seeds in gauze, then soak them in water for 1 day. After that, place them in a low-temperature environment in the refrigerator at 0°C to 3°C for about 15 days.

II. Germination treatment

Pour the seeds into warm water at 50 to 60°C and soak them. After soaking for about 2 to 3 hours, scoop the seeds out and rub them clean, then wrap them in gauze, soak them in warm water, and place them in a warm environment to germinate. Be careful to keep them moist. When 60% to 70% of the seeds have split and shown white, sow them.

III. Sowing method

Prepare a flower pot and nutrient soil. Before sowing, soak the soil thoroughly, and wait about 1 hour before sowing. When sowing, scatter the seeds evenly over the soil, then cover with a thin layer of soil. After watering, place them in a warm spot for care. Once the seedlings grow 3 to 5 true leaves, they can be transplanted and set out.
