The ground turtle in the earthen house, which I dared not catch before, is now a delicacy at 20 yuan per jin

I remember when I was a child, there were many earthen houses in the countryside. Later, as people's lives improved, they began to renovate their own earthen houses, tearing them down and building new brick-and-tile houses. In fact, earthen houses are very comfortable to live in, warm in winter and cool in summer, but earthen houses are rather vulnerable to heavy rain. When it rained, snakes, insects, rats and ants would easily appear in the house. When I was a child, I often saw centipedes, ground turtles and other insects in earthen houses. Now, with the construction of the new countryside, many rural earthen houses have been demolished, and some earthen houses in the mountains have mostly collapsed due to years of neglect. The earthen houses that carried childhood memories are gone forever, and those insects that used to be frightening are now almost nowhere to be seen.
Today I will introduce a common insect in earthen houses, the ground beetle, also called the ground turtle because its shell is somewhat similar to a turtle's shell. After an earthen house is pushed down, many ground beetles will be seen crawling out from inside it. The ground beetle has an oval, flat body and is grayish-black in color. It usually likes to move around in earthen houses. Ground beetles can basically eat many vegetables and foods; they just find some edible food on the ground to sustain life. In the past, there were many in the countryside, but people did not know their value and let them live and die on their own. To prevent these insects from being in their earthen houses, people would even scatter some insect-repellent drugs. People did not know that this small black insect actually has great uses.
Do not underestimate this insect. This small, black, inconspicuous insect actually has high medicinal value. After being dried in the sun, the ground beetle can promote blood circulation and relax the muscles and tendons, and in traditional Chinese medicine it is used to treat traumatic injuries, sprains and other conditions. Now wild ground beetles can no longer fully meet people's demand for them, so many farmers have begun artificial breeding. Moreover, the cost of artificially breeding ground beetles is relatively low. The ground beetle's survival ability is very strong. As long as it is fed properly, the ground beetle can grow very well. Therefore, ground beetles are also very popular among farmers. Breeding is simple and growth is fast, and of course it also brings certain economic benefits to farmers.
Now the purchase price of ground beetles has reached 20 yuan per jin. Such a high price comes from the medicinal value of the ground beetle. In some medicinal formulas today, many contain ground beetle as an ingredient, so only in this way can the market demand gradually be met, which is why a large amount of artificial breeding has appeared. Besides its medicinal value, the ground beetle has also entered people's dining tables as a delicacy. Fried ground beetles are high in protein and low in fat and cholesterol, and as a specialty food they also attract people's attention.
I really did not expect that the ground beetles that ran out of the earthen houses when I was a child, which I dared not catch back then because I thought they stank, have now made it onto the dining table. I wonder if you dare to take a bite?
