Autumn is a golden time to repot plants, and many fellow gardeners have already started repotting. When repotting, many people put something at the bottom of the pot, which further improves the soil's air permeability, so when you go out on trips, pick up some of these little things, and they will surely work a hundred times better than bought ones.

Pine cones

In parks, there are many fallen pine cones. You can pick them up and take them home, then soak them in carbendazim for 24 hours, then put them under the sun to bake, which kills the bacteria inside. Then just place the pine cones directly at the bottom of the flower pot, which improves air permeability and effectively prevents root rot.

The remaining pine cones can be crushed, then add an appropriate amount of clean water, and once the pine cones turn black, mix them into the soil. This not only improves the soil's air permeability but also achieves a disinfecting and sterilizing effect.

Roof tiles

Near construction sites there are many leftover roof tiles. You can pick some up and take them home, then smash the tiles, wash them clean in clean water, then put them under the sun to bake for about 2 days, then place them directly at the bottom of the flower pot. This achieves both air permeability and water retention, making plants grow more vigorously and bloom more.

Pine needles

Put the pine needles you picked up in the microwave to sterilize them, or soak them in carbendazim, then put them under the sun to dry, which kills the insect eggs and such inside the pine needles. Then mix some soil into the pine needles, put them in a sealed container, and leave it under the sun to bake. Basically after 2 months it will have fermented successfully, and you can use it to grow flowers. It is even better than bought nutrient soil!
