At first, when I started growing succulents, the old man actually didn't quite approve. He thought it was too much trouble! The soil requirements are so high, watering has to be controlled, and every day you have to keep an eye on them... He himself likes to grow some flowers, plants and trees. Every day when he comes home from work, he pulls weeds in the flower beds and sweeps the yard, and at his age he never tires of it!

After a period of persistent coaxing from me, he gradually came to like succulents too, and he was especially interested in leaf-propagation babies.

Dad's Journey into the Hobby

So I brought over some succulents for him to take care of, and from then on I had pulled him into the hobby, hahaha~

First, let's look at the old man's succulents! The weather in Hangzhou has not been very good lately, it rains often, and the succulents have faded a bit...

Dad's Journey into the Hobby

Although they are all common varieties, they are all grown quite well and quite healthy. The colors may not be as beautiful, but there's nothing to be done when the weather won't cooperate...

In the future, if I have to go on a business trip, I can confidently leave the succulents at home for the old man to take care of! Oh yeah!

Recently, I don't know where he got a big tree stump from, even bigger than the one I got before. This is going to be a big project...

It has already been stripped of its bark and still needs to be sanded. Looking forward to the result, haha~

The old man also fiddled with the four tires I had swapped off the car last time. He really is more talented than me! It seems I inherited it, just that my skill is not deep enough...

In summer, the old man bought a piece of shade netting and covered the whole balcony with it. The effect was amazing!!

The tires I spray-painted last time still haven't had succulents or anything planted in them. I've been really busy lately... They happen to be useful for holding up the shade netting, they are heavy enough, and they look quite nice!

I think, when I reach the old man's age, will I also be unable to sit still every day? Will I have a whole yard of succulents to take care of? But how wonderful that would be!
