How should chrysanthemums be cared for in autumn?

Autumn has arrived, and it is time for chrysanthemums to bloom again. Chrysanthemums grown at home are now in the pre-flowering bud stage. Xiaoqi will explain how chrysanthemums should be cared for.

It is now autumn, and they are about to enter the bud stage. First, they must be given sufficient light. Sufficient light promotes bud formation and flowering and can prevent them from becoming leggy. Give them as much light as you can. If indoor light is really not sufficient, you can spray them with chlormequat in advance; chlormequat can promote dwarfing of the plant and early bud formation. Dilute it slightly according to the ratio on the instructions and spray it directly on the plant. Do not spray too much; after spraying, results can be seen in about half a month. After that, use it again one month later to achieve the effect of dwarfing and thickening the flowers.

Starting in autumn, begin fertilizing chrysanthemums, preferably with water-soluble fertilizer, applying it three to four times a month. Do not make the concentration too strong; a lower concentration used more often is also quite good. Too strong a concentration can easily burn the roots. It can also be supplemented in the form of foliar fertilizer. Continue fertilizing until the buds have formed and are about to reveal the color of their petals, then stop fertilizing.

Because chrysanthemums need to form buds and bloom in autumn, they must not lack water during this period. The principle for watering is to water thoroughly promptly once the surface of the potting soil is dry. Lack of water can easily cause the plant to wilt and affect the number of buds and the quality of later flowering. In addition, be sure to place it in a well-ventilated place. Good ventilation can ensure that root rot does not occur after watering. It also makes leaf rot due to poor ventilation less likely.

Autumn chrysanthemum care is simply sufficient fertilization, sufficient light, and optionally spraying a little chlormequat. Never let them lack water, and place them in a well-ventilated place until the buds form and bloom.
