Persian buttercup is Ranunculus asiaticus, with lush foliage and delicate, alluring flowers. The blooming period of Ranunculus asiaticus is mainly in spring. Autumn is the suitable time to plant; start a pot now and enjoy the beautiful flowers next year.

How to plant Persian buttercups:

(1). Division of Persian buttercup tubers is done in autumn. Break the plant's tuberous roots together with the rhizomes into small pieces along their natural lines, keeping a few flower buds and small tubers on each piece. Disinfect the separated tubers and let them dry.

(2). Seedlings bought from the market need to be planted immediately; handle them carefully when planting to avoid damaging the roots. Choose soil with good air permeability and a high content of neutral-to-alkaline humus, which helps Ranunculus asiaticus take root and develop. You can mix in an appropriate amount of peat, and add decomposed cake fertilizer or livestock manure and other organic fertilizer at the bottom of the pot as a base fertilizer.

(3). After the young seedlings are planted, the first watering after planting should be thorough; afterward, water promptly and pay attention to keeping the amount of water balanced. Then they need about 3~5 days to recover properly, after which they can be placed in the light for care. They must not lack sunlight, and they grow best in a lightly shaded environment. Avoid strong light. The suitable temperature for their growth is around 20°C during the day and around 8°C at night.

(4). In the early stage of Ranunculus asiaticus growth, fertilization mainly uses urea; after the blooming period, apply a potassium-containing liquid fertilizer 1~2 times; in the late growth stage, use more compound fertilizer; in winter, apply fertilizer containing nitrate nitrogen once a week.
