The best season for taking cuttings is here. After a summer of high temperatures, flower lovers should get to work! Right now almost anything you stick in soil will take. Today Huahua has specially picked some flowers that root easily, survive quickly, and don't suffer from "black stem rot" for everyone's reference~

Jasmine

Speaking of jasmine, it is absolutely Huahua's favorite flower. Huahua loves watching the delicate look of jasmine's tiny buds as they bloom. Now let's start taking cuttings!

1. Cut the cuttings

Because older branches have a relatively lower survival rate, it is best to choose new branches from the current year for cuttings.

The bottom of the branch should be cut at an angle, and just one leaf should be kept on each side. This can reduce water evaporation. Finally, cut the small branch

to a

length of about ten cm to fifteen cm.

2. Insert the cuttings

Next, we need to insert the prepared cuttings into a mix of soil and sand. Be sure to choose a loose, well-draining, airy, slightly acidic sandy soil.

To avoid damaging the surface of the branch when inserting the cutting, flower lovers can use a stick to poke holes in the soil.

When inserting the cutting, be careful to hold the branch upright, and press the surrounding soil with your fingers so the branch won't wobble!

After finishing, place it in a shaded, ventilated spot. It will take about one month to begin rooting, and in about two months the roots will have grown!

3. Precautions

Huahua wants to remind flower lovers that before rooting, avoid direct strong light, and don't rush to fertilize. On rainy days, move it back indoors in time, and be sure not to water it with rainwater.

Purple String of Bananas (Othonna capensis)

Purple String of Bananas is a succulent hanging plant. Many flower lovers like its plump, thick little leaves.

Once it gets sunlight, its green leaves will even turn purplish-red, which is very magical. Now is also a good time to take cuttings.

1. Cut the cuttings

Purple String of Bananas roots extremely quickly. Its common propagation methods are cuttings and division, but cuttings have the highest survival rate.

Cut a section of branch from a healthy Purple String of Bananas, preferably choosing one with plump leaves. Wait until the wound on the branch dries naturally in the sun, then insert it into the soil. Then spray a little water on its surface and the soil surface, just enough to moisten it.

2. Precautions

Flower lovers should note that a single leaf of Purple String of Bananas cannot propagate. It needs to have both stem and leaf to be used as a cutting.

Don't let its soil suddenly dry out, and be sure to water it properly!

Bougainvillea

The best season for taking bougainvillea cuttings is spring and autumn. Today Huahua will use the method of flower lover @hfy1981 to explain in detail how to take bougainvillea cuttings.

1. Preparation for cuttings.

Soak coconut coir and add perlite as the cutting medium for bougainvillea.

Prepare some disposable plastic cups. Be sure to poke several holes in the bottom to allow water to drain.

Fill them with the medium to complete the preparation.

Dilute potassium permanganate, pour it into the cups to rinse the medium, and disinfect the medium to prevent bacteria from growing and affecting root development.

2. Cutting process

Prepare semi-lignified branches and cut off some leaves.

Place the branches inserted into the soil into a foam box and cover it. Open it every day to let the branches breathe for ten to twenty minutes, and spray a little water every three to four days. After one to two months, they will root.

3. Transplanting the seedlings

Choose some loose, breathable soil, spray it wet, and put it into a flowerpot. Then take the entire cutting soil out of the original cup without breaking it apart.

Put it directly into the flowerpot, gently press soil on both sides, then put the flowerpot back into the insulation box. After about two weeks of acclimatization, it can come out of the box.

4. Precautions

Seedlings that have just come out of the box should not be rushed into the sun. After acclimatizing in a ventilated place for one week, they can be cared for normally!
