Master these 3 techniques for forcing Kalanchoe to bloom, and the flowers will open evenly, abundantly, and beautifully

The Kalanchoe plant is small and delicate, with dense, emerald-green leaves clustered into compact mounds and a rich variety of flower colors. It is a delightful indoor potted flower, and it also carries the meaning of long life and prosperity and peace, so it is often used as a "holiday flower."
Although Kalanchoe is not difficult to grow, growing it well does require certain techniques, especially during the flowering period. Today, Hua'er will introduce 3 "flower-forcing" techniques to everyone, so the flowers bloom evenly, abundantly, and beautifully!
1. Pruning
After Kalanchoe enters autumn, its growth speed increases, and some have already begun to differentiate flower buds and form buds. At this time, it should be pruned promptly by removing the top growth. Generally, about 1/3 of the branches are removed to eliminate apical dominance, promote the sprouting of new buds, make the plant lush with branches and leaves, produce more buds, and bear more flowers.
2. Water control treatment
Before entering the flowering period, you can subject it to water control. When watering, wait until the potting soil is dry and the branches and leaves show slight signs of wilting before watering. After repeating this for half a month, resume normal watering, and this can make Kalanchoe produce more buds and bloom evenly.
During the water control period, note that no flower fertilizer should be applied, otherwise it is very easy to burn the roots, affect the plant, and be detrimental to growth and flowering. In severe cases, it may even cause the plant to die.
3. Dark treatment
Kalanchoe is a short-day plant and is especially sensitive to the photoperiod. For Kalanchoe that has entered the flowering period, control the light to 8-9 hours per day, and from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next morning let it complete treatment in a dark environment. You can cover it with a black plastic bag or a box or similar, and this treatment can produce a "flower-forcing" effect.
That is all for the care of Kalanchoe. If flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower-growing knowledge, you can follow Huajianke!
