Touch a sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) and it shyly closes up, but experts warn its leaves are toxic, so don't touch it carelessly

I wonder if you ever came across an interesting plant when you were little. Why is it interesting? Because the moment we touch its leaves with a finger, they fold up. At this point you probably know which plant I'm talking about - that's right, the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica).

I remember that in elementary school we kept a few pots of plants on the classroom balcony, and one of them was the sensitive plant. It was small and very unassuming, yet all the girls in our class adored it. As soon as class was over, they would gently touch its leaves and watch them close and then slowly open again. Back then I thought it was truly fascinating.

Today I'm going to tell you all about how to care for the sensitive plant.

Buy some sensitive plant seeds - actually, there are plenty of places selling sensitive plant seeds. Soak the seeds in water for a day first, keeping the temperature at around 30°C. Soaking the seeds in water beforehand lets them absorb enough moisture, which makes them easier to grow later on.

Generally, when we plant sensitive plants we sow them in small pots. At this point we usually put just 1 to 2 seeds in each small pot, cover them with a bit of soil, and cover the pot with plastic wrap to keep the moisture in the soil from evaporating. Then place the soil in a spot that gets sunlight, check on it often, and water the sensitive plant whenever you see the soil has dried out. It will sprout within two weeks.

During the sensitive plant's growth, sunlight plays a very important role. Without sunlight or with too little light, its growth will be affected.

The sensitive plant is a tropical plant and loves water. It must not go without water during the growing period; keep the soil moist to ensure the plant has enough water to grow. Especially in summer, you can't skimp on watering - it's best to water once a day. In winter, be sure to protect it from cold damage and take good insulation measures to prevent the sensitive plant from getting frostbitten or freezing to death.

Many friends may not realize that although the sensitive plant looks small, its leaves really are slightly toxic. The leaves contain a toxin, and if we come into contact with them for a long time, our hair and eyebrows can turn yellow.

During the day the sensitive plant is non-toxic; it only releases that toxic substance at night. I'd like to remind everyone that touching the sensitive plant once in a while is fine, but don't touch it for long periods. I'm sure no one would keep stroking its leaves for a long time anyway.

The sensitive plant is small and cute, perfect for little girls to grow, and girls are sure to find it fascinating! This plant knows how to be shy just like a little girl - it must have some girlish feelings in it!

If you're interested too, go get a pot and grow one right away!
