On September 15, 2018, the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, held the election meeting for its second board of directors. More than sixty people attended the meeting, including guests and leaders such as Xiao Bin, Chairman of the Zhanjiang City Science and Technology Association; Wang Shangxing, Vice President of the Guangdong Provincial Bonsai Association and Chairman of the Western Guangdong Bonsai Art Exchange Center; Zheng Daxing, President of the Zhanjiang City Bonsai Association; Li Jian, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guangdong Provincial Bonsai Association, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Western Guangdong Bonsai Art Exchange Center, and Administrator of Lingnan Bonsai Network; Luo Jinping, Secretary-General of the Suixi County Science and Technology Association; Bu Hua, President of the Suixi County Bonsai Association; Chen Guangming, Master of Lingnan Bonsai Art; Lu Fujiu, member of the expert group of the Western Guangdong Bonsai Art Exchange Center; as well as all members of the host association.
Since its establishment in October 2013, the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association of Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, has received care and support from government leaders at all levels, especially the strong support and guidance of superior leaders from the Zhanjiang City Science and Technology Association, the Suixi County Science and Technology Association, the Civil Affairs Bureau, and the Federation of Industry and Commerce, as well as the enthusiastic help of fellow associations and the guidance of masters and experts. Under the leadership of the first board of directors with Wang Jianyou as president, all members of the association united as one, worked together, pooled their wisdom and efforts, overcame difficulties, grew and expanded, smoothly completed all work and tasks assigned by superior leaders, and actively carried out various activities beneficial to the association's development, achieving certain results and gaining recognition from all members.
The Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association has participated multiple times in bonsai exhibitions organized by the province, city, and fellow associations. Its bonsai and root art works have won awards multiple times in these exhibitions, with remarkable results: in 2016, it participated in the Park No. 1 Zhanjiang Large-Scale Bonsai Art Exhibition, submitting 25 works for exhibition and winning 2 gold awards, 2 silver awards, and 3 bronze awards; in 2017, it participated in the Zhanjiang Large-Scale Culture and Art Works Exhibition, submitting 11 works for exhibition and achieving excellent results of 1 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. Its root art works have also achieved good results in provincial and municipal exhibitions.
Over the past five years, the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association has also held multiple bonsai and root art training classes, seminars, on-site teaching sessions, and on-site observation sessions, and has organized members multiple times to visit and study elsewhere. Through the above activities, it has carried out artistic creation and theoretical research in bonsai and root art, exchanged bonsai and root art skills and experience, trained bonsai and root art artistic talent, and raised bonsai and root art and creative skills to a new level, receiving praise from superior leaders and bonsai and root art enthusiasts.
The first board of directors of the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association reached the end of its term in October 2018. In order to further improve the association's management work and enhance the creative enthusiasm and artistic level of bonsai and root art enthusiasts, after research and decision by the association's board of directors, the election meeting was held today.
At the meeting, founding president Wang Jianyou, on behalf of the first board of directors, delivered the association work report, summarizing the association's work achievements over the past five years, pointing out shortcomings, and looking to the future. The members passed the work report with warm applause.
Next came the election agenda. The meeting selected scrutineers Liu Xia and Huang Songkai to be responsible for supervision and vote counting. Staff distributed director ballots, and attending members carefully filled them out. Staff collected the ballots and counted the votes. Scrutineer Huang Songkai reported to the meeting, announcing the specific numbers of votes for approval, opposition, and abstention in the director election, and according to the relevant provisions of the association's charter, declared this election valid.
The newly elected directors of the second board of directors held the first board meeting in a separate room, electing and voting on the division of positions including president, vice president, secretary-general, deputy secretary-general, directors, and inspector of the second board of directors, and hiring honorary presidents. Founding president Wang Jianyou was elected to a consecutive term.
Scrutineer Liu Xia reported the election and voting results of the first board meeting to the meeting. All members passed with warm applause the list of the elected leadership team of the second board of directors of the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association, with Wang Jianyou as president.
Re-elected president Wang Jianyou gave a speech, thanking all members for their trust and entrustment. Having been elected twice, he felt an even greater sense of heavy responsibility and the need to work even harder, carrying forward the past and opening up the future. Under the leadership of the new team of the second board of directors, he would continue to practice the new policy concepts, create more artistic masterpieces, pursue a more perfect display platform, and promote the association's greater growth and healthy development! He also wished the association prosperity and ever better development!
Attending guests Wang Shangxing, Zheng Daxing, Xiao Bin, and others delivered congratulatory speeches respectively, wishing the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association even greater progress in the days ahead.

Continue to uphold the association's philosophy of "unity, understanding, dedication, and development," continue to do well in bonsai and root art creation, and establish a sense of masterpieces and a spirit of scientific innovation. We must produce more masterpieces, excellently complete the assigned tasks for provincial and municipal exhibition works, and strive to win more awards.
Actively carry out technical research and exchange activities in bonsai and root art. Regularly organize members to go out for observation and study, hold bonsai and root art seminars, and strive to hold a bonsai exhibition within the county as soon as possible. Through carrying out various activities, continuously improve the unity, cooperation, and technical level of all members.
Learning has no end. Only by gathering more, exchanging more, engaging in more activities, and holding more discussions can skills become superior and works become more exquisite.
There is reason to believe that with the care and support of provincial, municipal, and county leaders, the guidance of senior predecessors and experts, and the joint efforts of all members, the Suixi County Bonsai, Root Art and Ornamental Stone Association will certainly continue to grow and develop, and be run better and better!
