Snake plant leaves are a treasure: cut off one leaf, stick it in soil, and it will live

Yesterday a flower lover who likes snake plants left a comment asking Chengcheng to talk about how to propagate snake plants by cuttings. Actually, propagating snake plants by cuttings is very simple - you can just use its leaves directly!
First, let's talk about the leaves used for cuttings
For the leaves used to propagate snake plants by cuttings, it is best to choose old leaves that are more than one year old, and cut them into sections. A length of about 10 cm is the most suitable! After cutting, put them in a cool, ventilated place to let the wounds dry!
Next, let's talk about the soil used for cuttings
Because snake plants root very easily from cuttings, they are not very demanding about soil. We can use nutrient soil for cuttings, or we can use vermiculite. If you do not have either of these on hand, then finding a little river sand for cuttings also works very well! Most of the time when I do cuttings, I use river sand, and the survival rate is also very high!
After choosing the leaves and soil for cuttings, we insert the snake plant leaves directly into the soil, then place them in a cool, ventilated place. At this stage, remember not to let direct sunlight hit them. Water only after the potting soil has dried out completely. Generally, after two weeks they will take root!
Because snake plants first take root and then sprout, the process from rooting to sprouting takes about more than one month. During this period, we do not need to fuss over them. Usually, just water them after the potting soil has dried out completely!
After the snake plant grows new shoots, we can gradually give it some sun. At this stage it will grow very quickly. Pay attention and observe: when its root system grows to four or five cm, you can consider transplanting it. Do not transplant too early, because if you transplant when its root system is not yet robust, the survival rate will be very low!
Propagating snake plants by cuttings is just this simple. If you have any questions during care, you can leave Chengcheng a comment in the comment section!
