Do you little plant parents all like growing peace lilies at home? A friend's office has quite a few peace lilies, and he says the peace lilies in his office never do well; water them just a little carelessly and they wilt, and once they wilt they collapse and look awful. At that point you have to deal with it promptly. How do you deal with it? Let's take a look together.

1. Peace lily care: choosing the pot is very important

For example, the two peace lilies in the picture: the one on the left is grown in a small black square pot, and the one on the right is grown in a ceramic pot. Actually, in the little gardener's view, neither of these pots is quite suitable for growing peace lilies. We had best choose a flower pot with good drainage and breathability, but it is best if the bottom is not the kind on the right that is attached to a saucer; the separate kind is more practical. From the picture we can see the peace lily on the left is wilting very severely.

2. Peace lily wilting: lack of water is the real cause

This kind of wilting is actually not any disease; it is a symptom of lack of water. The people in their office are probably a bit lazy and forgot this one pot when watering. The peace lily next to it is still fine, while this one has ended up like this, and all its leaves have drooped down, which shows the lack of water is quite serious. Some little plant parents may worry whether it will die, but you can rest assured; with a little care it will not die.

3. Peace lily lack of water: rehydration matters

First, we should not rush to give a heavy watering. Use a spray bottle to lightly mist its leaves first, let it take in a little water, and only then water it thoroughly; this is relatively safe. If a peace lily is often left short of water like this, and after being short of water it is given a heavy watering directly, then over time the symptoms of wilting whenever it lacks water will become more severe, its resistance will drop, and it will easily die.

4. Peace lily care: strong roots are fundamental

So when we normally care for peace lilies, besides doing the work of watering and keeping moisture, we also have to do one thing well, and that is to grow its roots well. Use an organic nutrient solution for strengthening roots, dilute it 500-1000 times and give it as fertilizer, applied by drenching the roots. Once the roots are grown well, even if the peace lily encounters a sudden environmental change or improper care, it will be more likely to pull through.

5. Watering peace lilies: soaking the pot is easier

When normally caring for peace lilies, if you have quite a few peace lilies in your office, watering pot by pot with a spray bottle may take a bit long. At that time we can use the pot-soaking watering method: prepare a bucket, fill it with water, and drop the peace lily pot in, with the water not exceeding the surface of the potting soil; this method is simpler. The little gardener often uses this method, and you can try it too.

In the little gardener's view, the peace lily counts as one of the very easy potted plants to grow, but when caring for it you still have to be a bit more careful. Little plant parents should try to reduce this kind of "severe lack of water" situation, so as to better grow peace lilies well. Little plant parents, let's all work hard together.
