The washing machine is an appliance almost every household has. It not only brings convenience to our lives, but also saves me from worrying about laundry the way I used to. Not long ago I went to a classmate's home to hang out; his place had just finished renovation, and the overall feel was quite nice, and it hadn't cost a lot of money either. It looked very comfortable too, but when we went out to the balcony, he brought up the renovation. He said he had plugged the washing machine drain hose in "here," and not long after moving in, the floor had to be torn out and redone. He told me about it and said he now deeply regretted it after moving in, and that he should never have done it that way in the first place.

Most of the time, the washing machine at home is placed on the balcony, so people usually just stick the drain hose into the floor drain, and so very often, when the machine drains during the wash cycle, the water leaks straight out of the floor drain. So an ordinary floor drain is really not suitable for a washing machine. That was the case with my friend: at the time, for convenience, he just installed an ordinary floor drain. Because the structure of a washing machine floor drain is different from an ordinary one, when the washing machine was draining during the wash cycle, water leaked out, which also caused the tiles in his home to be ruined by the water, and he had no choice but to tear out the floor and redo it. He spent the money and still didn't get a good result.

So when we renovate, an ordinary floor drain cannot be used for a washing machine. Not only is it unhygienic to use, but the water in the floor drain will also back up, causing bacteria to breed in the washing machine's drain hose. So this not only makes the washed clothes smell, but also affects the floor at home. So when installing a washing machine, it is best to install it with a dedicated floor drain, not an ordinary one.

After hearing what my friend said, I found that his floor really had been replaced once. So when we renovate, never plug the washing machine drain hose into "here," otherwise not long after moving in, the floor will have to be torn out and redone again. This also causes unnecessary waste.
