After getting a "buzz cut," the cactus turned misfortune into blessing, sprouting 30 pups in two months

Growing plants is also a case of "misfortune may be a blessing in disguise." Giving a cactus a "buzz cut" produced 30 pups in two months
More and more people love growing plants, and many keep some flowers and greenery at home, such as the well-known pothos, spider plant, clivia, and lucky bamboo. Nearly every household grows one or two of these. Placed at home, they are easy to care for and can also purify the air, making the home fresh and natural.
Of course, growing all kinds of flowers at home means you need to tend to them in daily life, so the plants can stay healthy and growing for the long term. Take Sister Wang, the neighbor of Shitou, who is a very skilled plant grower. On her balcony, in her living room, and in her bedroom, she grows all kinds of green potted plants.
This summer, I saw Sister Wang pruning her cactus at home, using a blade to directly cut off the top of the cactus. At the time I was puzzled and asked her why she had trimmed the top of the cactus. Would that not limit its growth? Sister Wang said that it was precisely after pruning that it grew more. In fact, growing plants is also like being a person: sometimes only after losing do you gain. This is exactly what is meant by "misfortune may be a blessing in disguise."
Sister Wang saw that her cactus had stayed a single main ball for several years and did not grow very fast, so this summer she directly cut off 1 cm from the top of the cactus, then dabbed it with a carbendazim aqueous solution, and placed the pot in a shaded spot on the balcony.
Two months passed, and many little pups grew out from the sides, nearly 30 of them. In fact, this principle is the same effect as topping a plant. By pruning the top of the plant, you remove apical dominance, which allows the plant to grow more little cactus pups from the sides. The little pups that grow can be divided, or they can be left undivided so the plant grows into a clustered cactus. Once the pups grow larger, the whole plant will look very full and spectacular.
Cactus growing habits
How do you grow a cactus? Many plant lovers may know that you just need to water it less. In fact, this saying is not entirely correct, because many examples show that many plant lovers only remember to water the cactus less, and in the end drought-kill the cactus.
The cactus is a desert plant and likes to grow in water-permeable, airy sandy soil, so when choosing a pot and soil, it is best to choose a water-permeable, breathable ceramic pot and sandy soil. In later care, except in winter, it can be kept outdoors in other seasons. This ventilated, airy, and sunny environment lets the cactus grow quickly. However, be careful in the rainy summer season to keep the cactus indoors to prevent heavy rain and waterlogging, which can cause root rot.
There are now many flowering cactus varieties, such as: Yuweng, Feihuayu, Lishewan, Duanmaowan, and so on. Therefore, in summer, supplement the cactus with phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote flowering. Generally, potassium dihydrogen phosphate aqueous solution is the most suitable choice. A flowering cactus is very beautiful.
When growing cacti or other flowers at home, you must learn to be willing to let go. When it is time to prune, you must prune, to prevent the plant from becoming leggy. For common spider plants, pothos, and clivia, when disease or leggy growth appears, prune promptly, so the plant can grow more vigorously and densely later. Growing plants is like being a person: only by learning to let go can you gain.
