Started around 1990.

This tree went through about 12 years of ground planting

This photo was taken on August 23, 2011. A growing box was made from 4-inch hard wood boards, with dimensions of 22" x 18" x 4".

This is what the tree looks like today. I have two ideas about this tree, and now I can look at it from every angle every day. I have started to prefer the back of the tree, because it looks more impressive. But the chop wound near the top is my only hesitation. If this wound were a bit more concave, it would grow well, and I should try to hide it

The vertical grafted branches were placed in a carved channel that has its own side branches, hoping to grow 6 to 8 independent branches for later selection and removal.
