I have always longed for Tao Yuanming's idyllic life, seeking a trace of tranquility amid the tense bustle, seeking a touch of elegance amid fierce competition, listening quietly to the wind at sunset and in the still of the night, pondering life.

I have an infatuated heart: use the money I have to buy some pots and pans, build a thatched cottage, spread out a straw mat, and settle down right there. On a patch of open ground not far away, make a vegetable garden, plant radishes and Chinese cabbage, and if there is some leisure, add a few chrysanthemums for good measure. Under the dappled shadows of the trees, take a short rest, let the spirit roam free among mountains and waters, transform into a butterfly wandering in a dream, altogether elegant and free.

At this moment, far from the noisy city, far from prosperity, returning to a plain and simple idyllic life, as if entering a fairyland, I feel very secure at heart, as though this is the truly real home. From then on, no dreams haunt my soul, and body and mind are so relaxed.

Amid the red flowers and green trees, there is my slender wisp of cooking smoke, my sturdy stone table, my simple tea and plain meals, my sparse sunlight under the dappled grape trellis. Behind is the green mountain, in front a clear stream winding along. A few egg-laying chickens, a dog guarding the yard. This is the idyllic life of my dreams, this is my long-held expectation.

When I grow old, I will surely return to my hometown, back to the home that raised me, growing flowers in front of the house and vegetables behind it, enjoying the idyllic life of "picking chrysanthemums by the eastern fence, gazing leisurely at the southern mountains"!
