How to Plant Peucedanum praeruptorum Seeds? Detailed Sowing Method
I. Collecting Seeds
The seeds of Peucedanum praeruptorum have a very high germination rate and can be propagated directly by seed. Its fruits generally mature in September to October. When they are found to be yellow-white in color, cut off the flower stalks together with a pair of scissors, then place them indoors to after-ripen for a period of time before rubbing them to remove impurities, and dry them in the shade for later use.
II. Selecting and Preparing the Land
Choose a slope or flat land with very sufficient sunlight and soil that is slightly moist but does not accumulate water for cultivation. It is best to burn the weeds and withered debris on the ground in the winter of the year before planting, then turn the soil and let it overwinter. In February of the following year, apply some pig manure, then turn the soil again and level it.
III. Broadcasting the Seeds
Spring sowing is generally carried out in early March. Dig furrows about 1 cm deep in the field, mix the seeds with burned soil ash and broadcast them directly into the furrows, then promptly cover with a thin layer of soil, just enough to completely cover the seeds. Also cover with a layer of grass, and remove it after germination.
