How to grow Chinese lantern (Physalis alkekengi)? Master these cultivation methods and precautions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
15-20 days before sowing Chinese lantern seeds, plastic film needs to be laid on the ground surface, and the seeds need to be soaked in warm water for a period of time. After most of the seedlings have sprouted, they are planted into the soil. The planting density is about 750000 plants/hectare. After planting, fertilize and water promptly, and also pay attention to preventing pests and diseases.

I. Seedling raising

Before sowing, cultivate Chinese lantern seedlings in a greenhouse; 15-20 days beforehand, plastic film needs to be laid on the surface. Also, during the sowing period, soak the seeds in warm water at 45°C. After most of the seeds have sprouted, sow them.

Try to keep the daytime temperature at 20-25°C, and it must not be lower than 5°C in the cold winter season. Note that the soil during the seedling stage needs to alternate between dry and wet; generally, watering once every 7-10 days is enough.

II. Planting out

The planting density of Chinese lantern seedlings is about 750000 plants/hectare, with a spacing of about 25cm x 65cm. Before planting, apply 45000-75000kg of organic fertilizer per hectare. After planting, do not lift the seedlings, and also pay attention to shallow plowing.

III. Management

Chinese lantern has relatively strong adaptability. When planting, it needs to be fertilized once. After its fruits grow larger, it is best to apply a top dressing. Generally, the fertilizer application rate is about 225-300 kg/hectare. After planting, pay attention to watering promptly to keep sufficient water in the soil.
