Bougainvillea not blooming? Try this little trick, buds will appear within a month and bloom more and more

Bougainvillea is also called paperflower. Its colors are rich and varied, including red, pink, purple, white, and so on. If bougainvillea is well cared for, it can bloom for several months a year, and its flowering period is especially long. It can even bloom from summer to autumn, especially bougainvillea planted in the south, which can bloom for months even when casually planted by the roadside. Xiaoya has seen many friends' bougainvillea still in full bloom and very gorgeous right now, but many friends are puzzled: why is there not a single flower bud on the potted bougainvillea they grow at home?
If bougainvillea does not bloom, try this method: buds will appear within a month, and more and more flowers will open
Why does bougainvillea not bloom? Some even grow luxuriant foliage with branches and leaves, producing only leaves and no flowers. The reasons are these, and it will be fine if you pay a little attention.
Insufficient sunlight will affect flowering. If it is placed deep inside a balcony for a long time, or indoors, in a place with too weak light, it is prone to leggy growth. Bougainvillea is a full-sun plant. Even if it can bloom in a shaded place, the amount of flowering will be very small. The more sun it gets, the more it blooms!
Too little pruning. Especially for potted bougainvillea, the more it is pruned, the more side buds and side branches can sprout, and the greater the flower quantity. Especially after the flowering period has passed, it must be pruned immediately. The pruning method is to cut off one third of the length of the entire branch. It can also be pruned in winter, and the severity can be even greater. The more it is pruned, the more flowers it produces.
Too much watering will also affect flowering. When growing bougainvillea, water again when you see the potting soil has dried. There is a watering trick that can promote it to bloom as soon as possible: during the bud-forming period, do one round of water deprivation, reducing from watering once every three days at the beginning to once every five days. When you see the leaves gradually drooping a little and slightly wilting, water thoroughly once again. With this kind of water deprivation, after one month, it can promote its flower buds to sprout very quickly.
Only with sufficient fertilizer can it bloom abundantly. In winter, bury some fertilizer in the pot, such as bean cake fertilizer or chicken manure fertilizer. Usually apply a small amount of compound fertilizer once a month, and promptly spray a little monopotassium phosphate when buds appear. Do not apply only nitrogen fertilizer. In this way, it can bloom especially abundantly.
If sufficient light, sufficient water and fertilizer, timely pruning, and slight water deprivation are all done, then apart from occasional dormant periods, it will easily bloom in a full pot. It will definitely bloom especially abundantly.
