Why are the peace lily leaves drooping and turning yellow? There are two main reasons for this happening to a peace lily. One is lack of water, and the other is root rot.

The peace lily's root system is very well developed. After it grows in the potting soil for a while, the entire pot will be filled with roots. Some flower growers keep peace lilies and, when watering, give them just a little water. They do not water thoroughly, so only the top has water and the bottom has none. This causes the roots at the bottom of the root system to get no water supply, which makes the leaves wilt. Sometimes people forget to water, and after a long time the leaves also wilt and droop. If this happens many times and goes on for a long time, the leaves will be hard to revive even after watering, and you must use the soaking method to get them to recover completely. When watering a peace lily, just water thoroughly as soon as the soil surface is dry. Never give half a watering or just a little water.

Another situation is root rot. At first the roots start to rot without you noticing, and once many roots have rotted, the plant can no longer absorb water and nutrients. Its leaves will then droop and turn yellow. If you are sure it is not short of water and this happens, repot it in fresh soil right away, cut off all the rotting roots completely, and soak the roots in mancozeb diluted with water. Plant it in new soil, let it grow new roots and resume growth, and the leaves will naturally recover. Poor indoor ventilation and waterlogged, compacted soil easily cause root rot. It also easily happens with semi-soil semi-water culture or with self-watering pots.
