For balcony flower growing, choose the "Balcony Xi Shi" - it's super beautiful and well worth getting

As living standards improve, more and more people are joining the ranks of flower growers, and flower lovers with balconies tend to enjoy turning them into beautiful little gardens.
Today, Hua'er introduces a flower that is known as the "Balcony Xi Shi." Its flower colors are beautiful and its blooming period is long, and its stems and leaves all carry a special odor, making it deeply loved by many flower lovers.
This flower is the geranium (Pelargonium). Its stems are thick and fleshy, covered with fuzzy leaves that are round-heart-shaped and palmately lobed, with brown horseshoe-shaped markings on the leaf surface. Its flower colors are rich, including bright red, purplish red, peach blossom pink, and more. It has high ornamental value and is more than suitable for decorating a balcony.
Geraniums have fairly strong vitality and reproductive capacity. Except during the summer high-temperature semi-dormant period, when they are not suitable for cuttings, they can be propagated by cuttings at any time, generally with spring and autumn being most suitable. Choose semi-lignified branches, about 10 cm in length, keep 2-3 leaves at the top, and if the leaves are too large, remove half of them to reduce nutrient consumption and water evaporation.
After handling, place them in a cool place to dry until a film forms at the cut, and only then proceed. When taking cuttings, the top can be dipped in 0.01% indoleacetic acid to increase the survival rate. The cutting medium can be a sand bed or vermiculite, etc. Before inserting the cuttings, water thoroughly first, insert the cuttings 1/3-1/2 deep, then sprinkle some water to increase humidity, and then move them to a cool place for care, maintaining appropriate humidity. After about half a month, they will be able to take root and sprout, and once the roots are 3-5 cm long, they can be transplanted into pots.
Note: When taking cuttings, do not damage the stem skin of the cuttings, otherwise it will easily cause rot and is not conducive to the plant taking root and sprouting.
The growth and flowering of geraniums require sufficient light, fertilizer, and water. After the beginning of autumn, when sunlight intensity is lower, they can be moved outdoors for care. Keep the potting soil appropriately moist and apply diluted liquid fertilizer once a week. During the growth period, mainly use nitrogen fertilizer. After about three months, they will enter the bud-forming and flowering stage, so stop nitrogen fertilizer when entering the flowering period and switch to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, using decomposed fish intestine water, bone meal, etc., for more buds and brighter, more beautiful flowers.
The care of geraniums is introduced here. If flower lovers have other additions, they can share them with everyone in the comment section below. To learn more about flower-growing knowledge, you can follow Huajianke!
