The space at home is too small, yet the number of plants keeps growing, pot next to pot, and there is really no room to place them all. We might as well make a plant stand ourselves and stack the pots up - it saves space and money!

DIY Plant Stands, Money-Saving Secrets

1. Low-Level Plant Stands

A few days ago, the gardening enthusiast African discovered discarded packing racks in the neighborhood. There were quite a lot of them, just perfect for making a plant stand.

The wooden racks picked up need to be dismantled first, and all the nails pulled out. Be careful not to prick your hands - the nails on these packing racks are still very sharp.

The wooden strips from dismantling are very rough, with burrs all over the surface. We need to sand them with an angle grinder and a flap disc. Gardeners without equipment can use those super cheap sandpapers.

Cut the dismantled wooden strips into the length we want, install them with screws, and fix them with corner brackets. These small materials are easy to gather at hardware stores.

Note that you also need to drive screws through the back of the corner brackets, otherwise the plant stand will easily fall apart.

If you have this kind of outdoor stove burner or a blowtorch at home, you can give the wood a blazing burn, and the carbonized wood effect will appear instantly.

The semi-finished effect is coming out. Finally, you can make it all into a carbonized wood effect, then brush on a layer of tung oil, so you don't have to worry about watering and rain!

2. High-Level Plant Stands

Low-level plant stands are not enough either. We can make a high-level plant stand. First make a design drawing and calculate the height distance of each tier of the plant stand.

Cut and nail each tier of the plant stand according to the plan in the design drawing. When processing the wood, also sand it first~

After the four rows of horizontal racks are done, let's work on the sides. The angle of each slanted edge is 7°.

The last step is combined assembly and nailing, driving the nails deep into the wooden strips to secure them.

The finished effect is coming out. Place beautiful flower pots on it, and the bottom tier can also hold some watering tools. It really saves so much space!

Hang the Pots Up to Save Space

1. DIY with Wire

If there is no room on the ground, think about the sky. Gardeners who have wire at home can make a hanging pot rack themselves and hang a few heavier flower pots on it~

2. DIY with Hemp Rope

If you don't have wire, you can also use hemp rope or strips of clothing. Cut 8 ropes of equal length, first tie 1 sturdy knot, divide them into 4 groups, and tie a small knot with every 2 ropes.

Separate 1 of the 2 knotted ropes and tie another knot with another adjacent rope.

Finally, tie knots with the remaining ropes at both ends, and you can hang up the beautiful flower pots!

3. Buy Ready-Made Ones

Gardeners with no time and no crafting skills can consider the last option! You don't need to make it yourself, and you can still hang flower pots.
