Introduction
Green plants and potted flowers are essential decorative elements for home life. Keeping some flowers and plants at home has many benefits - it beautifies your living space and lifts your mood. "Flower Sound Potted Plant Diary · Issue 1295" introduces you to a super easy-to-grow plant.
Today's Featured Plant
Have you ever seen a plant that's even easier to grow than pothos? Today I'll introduce you to one. This flower, which we locally call the "false narcissus" flower, blooms at the same time - when it blooms, it blooms in a massive sweep. It often appears in parks and green spaces in the south, with excellent ornamental effect, often making visitors linger.
False Narcissus
False narcissus is the local name, given because its flower shape resembles that of the narcissus. It is a bulbous plant in the Amaryllidaceae family, with many varieties, mainly in pink tones, mostly single-petaled flowers. Whether blooming in groups or as single flowers, it has high ornamental value. It is native to South America and has been introduced and cultivated in many parts of China. In the south it is mostly used as ground cover, while in the north it is mostly grown as a private potted plant for ornamental viewing.
Frequent Blooming
The false narcissus has a very long flowering period, starting from late spring and lasting all the way to late autumn. During this time it blooms multiple times, flowering 5~8 times a year. It often likes to bloom en masse after strong winds and heavy rain, which is why it is also called "rain lily." Under the bright sun it is dazzling and eye-catching, almost universally loved.
Super Easy to Grow
The false narcissus is truly the easiest plant I have ever grown. It is a bulbous flower - just toss the bulbs into the ground and they will live. Care is super simple: water it when you remember, and it will thrive just fine even if you don't water it for ten days to half a month. It really is easier to grow than pothos. The prerequisite is that it must be grown in a spot with plenty of sunlight - insufficient light will lead to fewer blooms or no blooms at all.
An Excellent Potted Plant
Not only that, the false narcissus also has super strong reproductive ability. A single plant will produce many small offsets each year, and after the flowers fade it also sets seeds that self-sow, quickly growing into a large patch. It is suitable for courtyard greening and beautification as well as balcony potted ornamental viewing. It is a perennial - plant it once and it blooms every year, with high cost-effectiveness and well worth having.
