Autumn is here. With the development of society, many flower enthusiasts like to keep a few potted flowers at home. They not only decorate the room but also purify the air. Keeping a few pots at home is incredibly stylish. Succulents are excellent potted plants. Succulents are relatively easy-to-care-for Crassulaceae plants; generally, cutting off healthy branches and leaves and placing them in soil lets them take root, sprout, and fill the pot.

But many flower enthusiasts wonder: why do my succulents grow so well in summer, yet start drooping as soon as autumn arrives? Why is that? It is because you skipped these 3 things. If you do not want to end up with an empty pot of succulents in winter, you must do these 3 things well in autumn: no yellow leaves, no root rot, and pups popping out nonstop.

First, water only when the soil is dry, and water thoroughly. Evaporation in autumn is not as fast as in summer, so the watering frequency can be adjusted appropriately. Generally, watering once a week is enough. When watering, do not directly use tap water just drawn from the tap, because tap water contains some components that succulents do not need; these components can cause the potting soil to harden, so water cannot penetrate thoroughly. Therefore, the water used for succulents should be drawn and left to sit for a few days first, and you should water thoroughly without letting it leak out.

Second is the issue of fertilizing. Autumn is exactly the growing season for succulents, so you must maintain sufficient nutrients. Some flower enthusiasts are rather lazy and do not fertilize their succulents in autumn at all. Over time, the succulents become leggy because of the lack. If you do not want to make your own nutrient solution, go to the flower market and buy some flower fertilizer; it does not cost much each time. In short, you need to provide succulents with sufficient nutrients.

Third, when succulents develop root rot or dead roots, you must clean them up promptly to avoid infecting healthy leaves. Another point is to maintain sufficient light. We can keep succulents on the balcony. Sufficient but moderate sunlight can make succulents stronger, with a more compact shape, more vivid colors, and a healthier state, and they are less likely to be infected by fungi, with a smaller chance of catching pests. Especially in the two growing seasons of spring and autumn, increase the sunlight time as much as possible.

Flower enthusiasts who keep succulents at home must do these 3 things well in seven days. If you have any other flower-growing secrets, you can also share them with everyone in the comment box below!
