Lotus seeds not sprouting? Make a cut, and the tender shoots emerge in less than a week

Open the end of the selected lotus seed that has a small dent, either by filing it with a rasp or by grinding an opening on a concrete surface, then place the opened lotus seed into a container filled with water to soak, changing the water once in the morning and once in the evening, and after a week it will grow tender shoots. When the tender shoots reach 10 cm, plant them into a container prepared in advance with river mud for care.
I. Preparation before sowing
Select good lotus seeds, and be sure to identify the growth direction of the tender shoot: one end of the lotus seed has a small bump, and the other end has a small dent. The side with the dent is the direction from which the tender shoot will grow later. The shell of the lotus seed is very hard and difficult to peel off, so you can file it open with a rasp or directly grind an opening on a concrete surface, but be careful not to damage the fruit inside the lotus seed. When making the opening, open the end that has the dent.
II. Soaking to sprout
After opening the lotus seed, it must be soaked. Place the lotus seed into a container filled with water to soak, changing the water once in the morning and once in the evening every day, and after about a week tender shoots will grow.
III. Transplanting and planting
After 10 days, when the tender shoot of the lotus seed has grown to about 10 cm, it can be transplanted. Prepare a container, add river mud to the container, place the already sprouted lotus seed into the river mud, and gently add water so that the water surface is 2 to 3 cm above the surface of the river mud. Be careful to keep the tender shoot of the lotus seed above the water surface. With sufficient sunlight, lotus leaves will grow in one month.
