As people's living standards improve, more and more people like to keep a pot of flowers at home, pretty and cozy. Especially after autumn begins, if you can have a pot of flowers at home blooming in a profusion, it is truly wonderful. Flower lover Sister Zhang began carefully tending her kalanchoe and Christmas cactus in early autumn. Sister Zhang said she has been growing kalanchoe and Christmas cactus for two years now, and every year her kalanchoe and Christmas cactus are covered in flowers around New Year's Day, and they bloom one round after another, especially beautiful. So how does she grow them? How does she grow kalanchoe and Christmas cactus so well? When asked what her secret is, Sister Zhang said, because I really like kalanchoe and Christmas cactus, I am more attentive in their care. Generally, around mid-September I let the kalanchoe and Christmas cactus "eat an egg," so they can bloom quickly.

So exactly how do you feed this egg to kalanchoe and Christmas cactus?

This is also the topic of today's sharing, let's take a look!

Kalanchoe and Christmas cactus, feed them "it" in mid-September, and they will be covered in flowers by New Year's Day, stunningly beautiful!

Divide one egg into three parts, feed one part at a time, and kalanchoe and Christmas cactus will happily bloom

Seeing the subheading, I believe flower lovers all know that the egg needs to be divided into three parts to grow kalanchoe and Christmas cactus. So exactly how is it divided? Below, Xiaohua explains in detail:

One egg is divided into eggshell, egg yolk, and egg white

The methods of use are as follows:

1. Use of eggshells

Here Xiaohua must point out that you definitely cannot use just one eggshell, as that would be too little. We need to collect more eggshells, wash all the egg liquid off them, then put them under the sun to bake for about 7 days. When the midday sun is at its fullest, the eggshells will become crisp and brittle. At this point, we can find a way to crush the eggshells, then stir-fry them in a pan until the eggshells turn a little yellow. You can add a little white vinegar, which must not contain salt, and stir-fry again. Adding vinegar is to speed up the decomposition of the eggshells. After adding it, the decomposition of the calcium, phosphorus, and potassium elements in the eggshells will be much faster. Once stir-fried, they can be used to grow kalanchoe and Christmas cactus.

You can spread it directly on the surface, or mix it directly into the potting soil to grow Christmas cactus and kalanchoe. It can be used to replace river sand, and the effect is especially good.

2. The magic use of egg whites

Take one egg and crack it open (Xiaohua suggests doing several eggs at once), take out the egg white, add clean water. The ratio of added clean water is 1:100. Stir evenly, then put it into a plastic bottle to ferment. After about 30 days, you can take the liquid to water the flowers. This is decomposed organic nitrogen fertilizer. After kalanchoe and Christmas cactus use it, they all grow with lush branches and leaves. The egg white liquid needs to have clean water added, with a ratio of 1:30. It is recommended to use it 2 times a month, and you will get good results. Especially now that kalanchoe and Christmas cactus have passed their summer dormancy period and are in their growing season, if there is sufficient nutrition, they can show explosive growth.

3. The magic use of egg yolks

Finally, use the egg yolk. After fermentation, the egg yolk becomes a flower fertilizer mainly containing phosphorus fertilizer, especially suitable for promoting flowers on kalanchoe and Christmas cactus, with good results after use.

This usage is very simple. Flower lovers can judge how many egg yolks to use based on the size of the potted plant. For a larger one, it is recommended to use 2; for an ordinary one, just use 1. Divide one egg yolk into 3-4 portions, then use chopsticks to poke a few small holes around the edge of the kalanchoe or Christmas cactus pot. Put one portion of egg yolk in each hole, and cover with soil.

The egg yolk takes about 40 days to ferment, decompose, and break down in the soil, which is just right to supply the Christmas cactus and kalanchoe for blooming.

If you want kalanchoe and Christmas cactus to bloom early and bloom more, other care is indispensable

With sufficient nutrition, kalanchoe and Christmas cactus have the strength to grow and bloom. Then, if you want them to bloom early, you also need to do this, because kalanchoe and Christmas cactus are both short-day potted plants, so if you want them to bloom early, they cannot get too much light during the flowering period. Generally, kalanchoe and Christmas cactus only need 6-8 hours of light a day. At other times, shut them in a dark room, and you can cover them with a black plastic bag or a cardboard box.

Of course, while shading them to force flowering, you also need to water kalanchoe and Christmas cactus appropriately less. Water when the soil is dry and let it dry between waterings; that is, water only after the top one-third of the potting soil has dried through, and water thoroughly when you do. There must be no water accumulation in the pot.

Then with this water control and light shading for about 20 days, you can see kalanchoe and Christmas cactus covered in flower buds. Sister Zhang used this method to care for her kalanchoe and Christmas cactus, and they can all bloom around New Year's Day. After they bloom, what you need to pay attention to is moving the kalanchoe and Christmas cactus to a cooler place for care, and then you can extend their flowering period.

After flowering, promptly prune the spent flowers and add nutrients, and then kalanchoe and Christmas cactus can quickly bloom a second time.
