Nowadays people's lives are getting better and better, and the pursuit of quality of life is getting higher, while flowers and green plants have become more and more deeply integrated into people's lives. Foliage plants like pothos, spider plant, snake plant, asparagus fern, and money tree have already become deeply rooted in people's lives, while flowering potted plants like kalanchoe, Christmas cactus, geranium, clivia, and orchids are also becoming more and more popular.

Just like the gardener Miss Li, who especially loves kalanchoe. Because she loves them, she puts her heart into them. The kalanchoe that Miss Li grows all look especially delightful, with glossy green, thick, plump leaves, and the flowers bloom large and abundant, with every pot full of blooms. Everyone who sees them says that the kalanchoe Miss Li grows is stunningly beautiful.

So how does Miss Li grow them, to make her kalanchoe grow so well? Miss Li says it is actually very simple, she just adds one thing to the pot. So what exactly is this "thing" here?

Don't worry, this is also the topic we are sharing today, let's take a look together!

Miss Li grows "kalanchoe" by just adding "it", and every pot is "full" of flowers, stunningly beautiful!

Water with a little soybean water after autumn and every pot of pothos grows like crazy

Kalanchoe generally goes dormant during the high temperatures of summer, so after the summer heat period, the Christmas cactus will once again enter a growing state and make full preparations for the next bloom. So in autumn, especially in mid-September, which is now, you must give kalanchoe plenty of nutrients, so that the kalanchoe will have the strength to grow.

Soybeans contain a large amount of protein and vegetable oil. After decomposition and fermentation, they will be transformed into a nutritional organic fertilizer mainly containing nitrogen, followed by phosphorus and potassium, which is especially suitable for the growth needs of kalanchoe.

The method for making soybean flower fertilizer is as follows:

Take an appropriate amount of soybeans and first soak them in clean water. Generally after more than 10 hours, the soybeans will absorb enough water and become plump and large. At this time, as the old people often say, they have been soaked and expanded. Generally, when we make soy milk at home, we also need to soak the soybeans until they expand. Then take the soaked soybeans and put them in a pot to boil. With an ordinary pot it takes about 30-40 minutes, and with a pressure cooker generally 20 minutes is enough. The way to judge is that if you press one with a spoon and it breaks apart, it is ready. Let it cool and set aside.

Find a plastic bottle and clean it thoroughly, then put the soybeans and the water used to boil them together into the large bottle, add a little insecticide, and fill it to 8 parts full. Put the lid on and place it in a warm, ventilated place to decompose and ferment. It is recommended that gardeners use it after 6 months. First take the upper clear liquid and dilute it with 30 times its amount of clean water, and then you can water the kalanchoe with it.

Using it 2 times a month is enough. After use, the kalanchoe grows especially well, and the fertilizer effect is long-lasting. Using this kind of organic flower fertilizer to grow flowers also has another benefit, which is that it can improve the looseness of the potting soil. Even without repotting, the potting soil will not become compacted, and it will be breathable and nutritious.

Add an egg yolk to the pot and the kalanchoe will bloom vigorously

If you want kalanchoe to bloom more, phosphorus fertilizer is absolutely indispensable. So give the kalanchoe an egg yolk to eat. A large pot of kalanchoe can take 2, and a small pot only needs 1. The method of use is relatively simple.

And using it on kalanchoe right now is just perfect. Take one egg and crack it open, take out only the yolk, then divide the yolk into 3-4 portions. At the same time, along the edge of the kalanchoe pot, away from the root system, use chopsticks to poke holes, put one portion of egg yolk in each hole, and cover with soil. Isn't it convenient? Isn't it simple?

As you water, after about 40 days, the egg yolk will decompose into an organic flower fertilizer mainly containing phosphorus, which is just right for the kalanchoe to use for blooming. The effect is something only those who use it know, it is fantastic.

If you want kalanchoe to bloom more, other care is indispensable

1. Light

Kalanchoe is a short-day plant and cannot be given too long a period of light. Generally about 8 hours is enough. If there is too much, it is even more unfavorable for the kalanchoe to bloom. Especially when the kalanchoe reaches its flowering period, give it only 6-8 hours of light, and keep it in complete darkness the rest of the time. Generally it can bloom in about 20 days.

For everyday care of kalanchoe, you can place it in a bright spot for care, but it must not be exposed to strong sun, nor direct sunlight. Placing it in a bright, well-ventilated spot for care is enough.

2. Watering

The leaves of kalanchoe can store water and it has a relatively strong drought tolerance, so there is no need to water too much. Generally water once every 7-10 days, and water thoroughly when you do. There must be no standing water in the pot.

Gardeners, have you learned it?
