It's autumn, and the hot summer is finally over. Autumn sowing has begun, and friends who love growing vegetables on the balcony or at home can start taking action. Just prepare flower pots, soil, and seeds. Growing a few pots of vegetables at home is a lot of fun, and you can also harvest delicious fresh greens. There are many vegetables you can grow in autumn, including cilantro, chives, celery, and more. So some gardening friends say these vegetables germinate rather slowly and are hard to sprout. Is there a good method to make them germinate fast and grow vigorously?

Growing cilantro, celery, and chives at home: one little trick for fast germination, vigorous growth, and ever-lusher plants!

Cilantro growing methods and tips

Cilantro is loved by many people for its special aroma; adding a little to beef noodles makes them even tastier. It's said that cilantro is even more expensive now. So just grow some yourself. The seeds are easy to find. Prepare fresh cilantro seeds, and you can first use a glass bottle or the bottom of a bowl to rub the round seeds apart, rubbing them into two halves.

You can soak them in water first to make rubbing them apart easier, then put them in the refrigerator to chill for two days. After that, plant them and they will germinate especially fast, sprouting evenly, with little green seedlings all popping up.

Cilantro likes plenty of sunlight and fertile potting soil. Later on, give it more sun and more fertilized water, and it will grow lush and green, with lots of abundant leaves. Once you've eaten it all, just sow more.

Chive growing methods and tips

Chives are also one of the vegetables we often eat. One advantage of growing chives is that after you harvest one round, you can keep eating more. Many gardening friends grow chives from chive roots, but you can actually grow them from seed too. The only thing is that before sowing you must pre-sprout them: first soak the seeds in 40°C warm water for ten hours, then put them in a wet paper towel and spray water daily to keep them moist.

Once the seeds show little white sprouts, you can sow them in the pot. Germination will speed up a lot, and more seedlings will come up.

Although chives grow slowly at first, later on give them more sun, put them in a ventilated spot, and add plenty of base fertilizer, such as chicken manure fertilizer or plant ash, and they will grow especially fast, with leaves that are both wide and large.

Celery growing methods and tips

Celery is rich in carbohydrates, vitamins, calcium, and more, and it's said to help lower blood pressure too, so you can grow celery at home yourself. When sowing celery, you also need to pre-sprout first: soak the seeds in clean water for 24 hours to absorb enough moisture, then rub and wash them several times, let them dry a bit, and put them in a container.

Cover with a wet towel, rinse the seeds once a day, and then once they show white sprouts you can sow them. This way they germinate very quickly.

To grow celery, first of all keep plenty of light and water it with more fertilized water, and it will grow bigger and more luxuriant.
