Succulents grow vigorously in autumn; proper fertilizing can easily plump them up

Generally speaking, spring and autumn are the seasons when succulents grow and transform. When they are eagerly growing, you can give them a proper nutrient boost. In addition, when succulents bloom, the mother plant needs to consume more nutrients to supply the flowering, and if the nutrients are insufficient, it can easily die, so at this time both water and fertilizer should be added appropriately.
In regions where the temperature is below 28°C, you can start giving some fertilizer. At this temperature, succulents are no longer dormant, and after watering once or twice you can give them some fertilizer appropriately. The principle for chemical fertilizer is to apply it dilute rather than concentrated, and you can also choose slow-release granular fertilizer for shallow burial. Whether it is water-soluble fertilizer or shallow-buried slow-release fertilizer, do not place it right against the roots, to avoid burning them. For water-soluble fertilizer, you can also use the soaking method.
If you want to fertilize succulents, then before using it we should first understand what nutrients succulents need: nitrogen fertilizer, which can promote denser growth of branches and leaves; phosphorus fertilizer, which can promote the development of the plant's fruit; potassium fertilizer, which can promote thicker and stronger root growth and increase the plant's resistance.
As for succulent seedlings less than a year old, do not fertilize them. Their roots have not yet grown sturdy, and fertilizing instead makes them prone to dying. For one-year-old seedlings, the main focus should still be on developing the roots. Whether the temperature is too high or too low, pests and diseases will be somewhat reduced. But in early autumn, the temperature is usually comfortable and very suitable for pests and diseases to reproduce, so everyone must be extra vigilant and prepare well against pests. Once pests or diseases are found, treat them promptly.
Those of you in the north, where it has already cooled down, can water freely. Choose a windy and cool afternoon, give the succulents a pot of water, wake them up, and tell them the growing season has arrived; at this time this is very necessary. After autumn arrives, the north begins to become dry. If you are still excessively restricting water, it is very unfavorable for the growth of succulents. Friends in the north, what are you waiting for? Hurry and wake up your succulents.
Just as the season changes into autumn, the sun is still very strong. At this time, if you are impatient for results and directly move the succulents outdoors, or immediately remove the succulents' shade net, screen window, etc., sunburn is especially likely to occur. Therefore, letting succulents bask in the sun should be a gradual process; you can slowly reduce the time the net is drawn. For example, at first you can open the shade net at eight or nine o'clock, and after a period of time draw the shade net open at nine or ten o'clock. In this way, step by step, give the succulents a process of adaptation.
