Here, city residents start from zero experience to try their hand at woodcraft, learning about woodworking tools and the history of woodworking, making a pair of chopsticks themselves, playing the role of a little carpenter, and experiencing the time-honored traditional Chinese art of woodworking. Making a ring or a bracelet starts with a block of wood and involves cutting, sanding, oiling and other steps, and can be completed in about 2 hours. In the workshop, parents with children, or a couple, or a single person, gather around a small wooden table to sand, carve or paint, with tools, wood, paintbrushes, instruction sheets and so on placed on the table.
