Snake plant stays green all year round and has high ornamental value, making it very suitable for home decoration. While beautifying the environment, it also helps people maintain a healthy and pleasant state of life. So how do you turn one pot of snake plant into many pots? Below we introduce the snake plant's propagation method!

Snake plant propagation method:

As long as the temperature is controlled appropriately, snake plant propagation can actually be done all year round; generally it is best done in June and September each year, when the climate is suitable and the survival rate is relatively high.

(1). Choose suitable weather, then gently remove mature leaves, cut the leaves into segments 7-10cm long, and place the cut segments in a cool place to let the cut ends dry.

(2). Prepare the propagation soil. The soil requires a loose, breathable medium, which can be made by mixing 2 parts leaf mold and 1 part fine sand. Before use, sterilize and disinfect the soil.

(3). Water the soil thoroughly, insert the leaves into the soil. Right after propagation, do not water too much; just keep the soil moist, otherwise the leaves will rot. About 1 month after propagation, they will root and grow adventitious buds.

(4). For snake plant varieties with golden edges and silver edges, using leaf cuttings will cause the golden and silver edges to disappear, so the division method is more suitable for propagation, as only then can the superior traits of the mother plant be maintained.
