What to do when azaleas drop their leaves? Grow them this way for lots of buds and a bursting pot of blooms

Azaleas are also called yingshanhong (mountain red) and shan shiliu (mountain pomegranate). There are many wild azaleas in the countryside; because they bloom all over the hillsides with bright red flowers, they got the name yingshanhong. They generally bloom in spring, and today there are many kinds of azaleas, with more and more flower colors - red, white, pink - very beautiful and gorgeous. So how should azaleas be grown to make them flourish and burst into bloom?
When you buy an azalea, it is best if it was grown in its original soil, not one that was just repotted. If you want to change the pot, it is best to keep the soil ball and old soil around the roots; do not shake the soil off the roots, and do not trim the roots or anything like that, otherwise it will be very hard for it to settle into the pot. If you plant it with the soil, it will easily adapt to the new environment and will not drop leaves or buds.
Azaleas do well in acidic soil rich in humus, so occasionally sprinkle a little ferrous sulfate in the soil, or water with a little diluted white vinegar, to make the soil more acidic. Only then can the azalea grow vigorously and bloom abundantly.
Watering azaleas is crucial: you cannot give too much water, nor let them dry out for a long time, because their roots are very fine and weak, not well developed. Too much water easily causes root rot, yellow leaves and leaf drop; too little water means the moisture cannot keep up, and the leaves wither, and so on. So when you see the potting soil is dry, water it promptly.
In summer, to keep the azalea in better condition and its leaves a pretty tender green, do not put it in the blazing sun; it is best to place it under some taller plants to shade it. After watering, be sure to ensure ventilation and let the wind blow through, otherwise waterlogged soil easily causes leaf drop.
In spring and autumn, water a bit more; when the temperature is low, reduce watering. No matter when, open the windows for ventilation and air exchange. In both spring and autumn you can give the azalea some light fertilizer, such as cake fertilizer water, rotted chicken manure fertilizer and the like.
In summer, when it is hot, be sure to water the azalea promptly. In winter, if the temperature is not especially low, not below minus ten degrees, it can be left outdoors to overwinter. In the area where Xiaoya lives, it snows lightly in winter, but the azaleas placed on the terrace, with no warming measures at all, are still perfectly fine.
Grow azaleas this way and they will burst into bloom and grow more and more vigorously!
