As soon as autumn arrives, everyone loves to give their succulents more sun, hoping to get them to color up quickly, but they forget that autumn is also a high-incidence season for succulent pests. If you are not careful, your beloved succulents will all die off before they even get a chance to look beautiful! So pest and disease control in autumn brooks no delay!

Kill mealybugs like this and they drop dead right away!

A few days ago, Huahua saw a flower friend who had placed a few pots of freshly potted succulents on the balcony and found 3 fat, big mealybugs. Guess what happened? It turned out the mealybugs had fallen down from upstairs!

1. Squash them with your bare hands or with tweezers

If there are not especially many mealybugs in your home, you can find a toothpick, tweezers or a pointed needle and just stab them to death directly. Although mealybugs look rather hard, in fact one poke is enough to kill them.

2. Wash them off with running water

If some flower friends find them disgusting and do not want to touch them, then put the whole succulent under running water, just turn on the tap and carefully rinse both the front and back sides, using the running water to wash the mealybugs away. You can also directly use a pressure spray bottle with a long wand; the effect is quite good either way.

3. Kill them with alcohol, soapy water, etc.

Flower friends who have alcohol at home can choose to use 75% alcohol, directly dip a cotton swab in the alcohol and gently wipe the spots on the succulent leaves where the mealybugs are. After repeating several times, the mealybugs can be killed!

4. Kill them with mosquito coils

If you find mealybugs on your succulents, you can put the succulent in a somewhat larger airtight container, then put a lit mosquito coil inside, seal it all up together, wait until the mosquito coil has burned out and then let it sit for a while. Take the succulent out and basically the mealybugs will be killed!

5. Spray with pesticide

The last method Huahua introduces is to spray pesticide directly. For example, the commonly used Jiebizhi or Jiechongling can be diluted directly according to the concentration, sprayed about 1 time per week, and the mealybugs will soon be killed!

Drive snails away like this and they will never dare come back!

Some flower friends think snails are quite cute, but if they gnaw on succulent leaves, then you will not find them cute anymore. So if you come across snails, hurry up and drive them away!

1. Sprinkle some eggshells in the pot

Do not throw away the leftover eggshells at home. Just rinse the eggshells clean with water, dry them in the sun, or heat them in the microwave for a few minutes to let the eggshells dehydrate quickly, and then break them into pieces.

Sprinkle some crushed eggshell pieces on the surface of the succulent pot, or just sprinkle some directly around the edge of the pot. The edges of the crushed eggshells have sharp angles. When a snail passes over the eggshells, the sharp edges will cut the snail's belly, and it will never be able to climb into the flower pot again!

2. Sprinkle some table salt around the edge of the pot

If you cannot get eggshells for the moment, you can also just go to the kitchen and grab a handful of table salt, and sprinkle a ring of it along the outside of the succulent pot. Table salt can dehydrate proteins. If a snail crawls over the salt, it may cause harm to its body, and this can prevent snails from gnawing on succulent leaves!

Kill fungus gnats like this and they will all die off completely!

If we are talking about the most annoying thing all year round, it must be fungus gnats! Fungus gnats get into every possible opening, and no matter how you kill them, they just will not die. It is enough to drive you crazy!

1. Yellow sticky traps

Fungus gnats especially love yellow, so if you want to kill fungus gnats, you can go buy a yellow sticky trap and place it directly next to the succulent pot. Basically after 1-2 hours, you will see a huge number of fungus gnats stuck to the sticky trap!

2. Laundry detergent water

Mix laundry detergent with water. Basically, for a standard 550ml mineral water bottle, adding a small pinch of laundry detergent is enough. Shake it evenly, put it in a spray bottle, and spray it directly toward the places where there are fungus gnats. As long as the laundry detergent water touches the wings of the fungus gnats, they basically will not be able to fly anymore! Moreover, if the laundry detergent water is a bit lower in concentration, it does no harm to the succulents.

3. Cover the pot surface with sand

The reason fungus gnats largely cannot be completely killed off is that there are insect eggs in the soil. So at this time, we can spread a layer of fine sand on the surface of the pot, and then fungus gnats will not be able to get into the soil to lay eggs!

Kill ants like this and they will never be seen again!

Recently, many flower friends have told Huahua that ants have appeared in their homes. Killing one does not work; you have to kill the entire nest. What should you do? Why not try soaking tobacco shreds in water!

Collect the cigarette butts left over from smoking at home. About 5-7 are enough. Soak them in clean water for more than 1 day. The next day, fish the cigarette butts out, and what is left is the tobacco shred water. Pour the tobacco shred water directly into the flower pot, and basically the ants can be killed!

After reading Huahua's introduction,

does everyone know what to do now?

Why not hurry up and take action while it is autumn,

or it will be too late to regret it!
