After an aloe is chopped off with one cut, it wildly sprouts small pups, and the pot can barely hold them all
Beheading and cuttings, at worst start over from scratch
1. Beheading
First, we need to prepare the tools for the slaughter. What Huahua used is the big kitchen knife at home. Before use, be sure to disinfect it.
Choose the position where you want to cut off the head, such as a crooked place or a place with root rot. If the aloe is cut right next to the leaves, we need to peel off a few leaves from the lower part of the plant, because its roots all grow from the leaf stalk area on the stem!
2. Drying the roots
After beheading, place the aloe in a cool place to dry the roots. Generally, the roots need to be dried for more than 1 week. Wait until the cut surface is completely dry and shrunken before potting. Do not worry that it will dry to death. It is also normal for the roots to turn slightly red.
3. Soil
As for the potting soil, if you do not change it now, when will you? You can choose garden soil and humus soil with a small amount of coal cinder added. If the soil is freshly dug from the wild, do not forget to expose it under the blazing sun for a few days to sterilize and kill insects.
4. Potting
When replanting, we had best use moist soil for potting, that is, a state where it can form a ball when squeezed in the hand and breaks apart as soon as you touch it. After the aloe is potted and settled, place it in a place not reached by direct sunlight, and absolutely do not water it again. Wait until the soil is dry before watering.
5. Care
Because it needs to grow new roots, the recovery period will be a bit longer. When we observe signs that the plant is resuming growth, we can gradually increase the light.
So do not give up on aloe with root rot. With the method Huahua taught, it can come back from the dead! And because it has new roots, its growth will only get better. Apart from flower lovers who want to grow old stumps, for crooked aloe, we can also correct it through this method.
Do not treat it too well, only then can it grow like crazy
1. Light
The aloe at home is best kept on the balcony, and at least sufficient scattered light should be ensured. Aloe also needs to receive light to grow sturdy. In summer, when the light is too strong, it can be properly shaded.
Huahua reminds you: if your aloe has been in an environment with poor light for a long time, we cannot suddenly move it to a place with strong light. We must slowly increase its light intensity and duration, and let it adapt to the environment little by little, otherwise it is very easy to sunburn into dried aloe!
2. Water
Many flower lovers' aloe dies from root rot, so when caring for aloe normally, it is better to keep the potting soil on the dry side. Absolutely do not let water accumulate. Do not treat it too well, and perhaps there will be unexpected surprises.
3. Soil and fertilizer
Huahua has already talked about soil above. In fact, as long as the potting soil is made loose, breathable, and well-draining, root rot caused by excessive watering can be avoided to a large extent.
As for fertilizer, some well-fermented organic fertilizer can be properly applied, such as cake fertilizer and chicken manure.
