When caring for the umbrella tree (Schefflera arboricola), water it with this kind of water and it will keep pushing out new shoots, with glossy, emerald-green leaves.

The umbrella tree has emerald-green leaves and cute leaf shapes, making it a very popular foliage houseplant. Recently many friends have said that their two umbrella trees no longer have emerald-green leaves and are even dropping leaves. Today we will introduce a kind of water that can effectively treat this condition.

This magical water is rice-washing water. Rice-washing water is rich in nitrogen and other trace elements, which can do a great job of promoting the growth of the umbrella tree and keeping the leaves emerald green and glossy. This method is also fairly simple, and the specific steps are below.

Add a little orange peel to the rice-washing water, put it in a plastic bottle, and leave it in the sun for about a month. Once fermentation is complete it is ready to use. When using it, just dilute it with 20 times its volume of clean water.

Then water it along the edge of the flower pot once a week. After persisting for a period of time, you will find that the yellowing leaves slowly turn green again.

Some branches have even put out new shoots. In addition, after Mid-Autumn you should boost the umbrella tree's resistance by spraying the leaves 2 to 3 times with a 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution. This way it will be more robust and get through the cold winter more smoothly.
