Growing flowers at home is the choice of more and more people, and it fits today's lifestyle very well: it can decorate the home, beautify the environment, and also relieve stress and help cultivate the mind and character.

Although growing flowers can bring great benefits, it is not so easy to grow them well, especially when it comes to the problem of potting soil compaction. Some flowers and plants have fairly developed root systems and grow quickly, and together with watering, fertilizing and other factors, the potting soil soon becomes poor and compacted. Today Hua'er will introduce to everyone these 3 things to throw in when repotting flowers: the soil will not compact, and the plants will not rot at the roots!

1. Dried fruit shells

Dried fruits are a snack many people particularly love, and they are rich in nutrients. The leftover dried fruit shells can be used to grow flowers. For example, walnut shells can be crushed and mixed with the potting soil, which can make the soil loose and airy, reduce potting soil compaction, and these dried fruit shells can release nutrients during fermentation for the plants to absorb, promoting growth and flowering.

2. Red brick

Red brick is a very common building stone from before, mainly made by firing red clay. It is likewise hard in texture and can be used to loosen the soil. It also has a strong adsorption capacity and can absorb many harmful substances in the soil, protecting the root system. Red brick also contains fairly rich minerals, such as iron, magnesium, zinc, etc., and flowers and plants that absorb them can become more luxuriant and green.

3. Crushed bone residue

Crushed bone residue has the same effect as dried fruit shells: it can make the soil loose and airy, so the soil does not compact, and crushed bone residue contains a large amount of phosphorus and potassium, which is especially good for flowers that bloom.

Collect the bones left over each time, rinse them 2-3 times with boiling water, then put them in a pressure cooker and simmer for about 1 hour. After cooling, take the bones out and put them in the sun to dry until completely dried out. They can be crushed appropriately, and then when repotting you can lay a layer at the bottom or mix them with the soil.

That is all for growing flowers. If fellow flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about growing flowers, you can follow Huajianke!
