Introduction
Potted green plants are essential accents for home life. Keeping some flowers and plants at home brings many benefits: they beautify the room and lift your mood. "Flower Sound Potted Plant Diary, Issue 1288" introduces you to a very beautiful flower.
Today's star
Can a single tree bloom several different colors of flowers at the same time? Looking at this picture, you might think it is simulated flowers or a staged photo, but in fact this plant really exists in nature. The flower introduced today is called Wuse Chidan, a famous variety of the camellia, one of China's top ten famous flowers.
Wuse Chidan
Wuse Chidan, also known as Fendan, gets its name because it blooms flowers of several colors at the same time. Its traits are unstable: flowers are sometimes half pink and half red, or all pink, all red, half pink and half red, pink with red patches, pink with red streaks, and so on, always surprising you. The flower forms are varied, resembling roses and also peonies. The flowers are large, 10-12 cm in diameter, with high ornamental value, no less beautiful than the "king of flowers," the peony.
Beautiful like a peony
Wuse Chidan has a very long blooming period, normally from October to May of the following year, with flowers opening one after another. Especially in winter and spring, when other flowers are dormant, the camellia still stands proudly in the snow, making it an important flowering plant for winter and spring. It also produces many buds, and a large plant blooming all over is very common. For small plants, it is advisable to pinch off some buds and keep only a few flowers, as insufficient nutrients will prevent the buds from opening.
Easy care
Wuse Chidan is a variant of Chidan with stronger adaptability. It can even be planted in the ground to overwinter in areas south of the Huaihe River, and is much easier to grow than ordinary camellia varieties. It likes well-drained, loose and fertile sandy loam or loess, is relatively easy to care for, and can tolerate low temperatures down to -8 °C, making it one of the top choices for northern flower lovers growing camellias.
Worth getting
Wuse Chidan not only has large, brilliantly colored flowers with high ornamental value, but what is even more amazing is that no two of its flowers are alike; each flower has its own unique color. Grown as a bonsai tree and placed at home, its colorful flowers really score points.
