The eggshells left over from everyday meals are actually great fertilizer for growing vegetables. Not only do they make the vegetables grow green and strong, but the key is that after the vegetables absorb the nutrients, the yield will be twice as high! Today Teacher Xiao Ye will talk with everyone about those things regarding using eggs as fertilizer. Hurry up and learn!
1. Crushed eggshells as fertilizer make vegetables green and strong
1. Normally we can collect the used eggshells, wash them clean with water, and then put them in a sunny, well-ventilated place to dry.
2. Crush the dried eggshells, and the finer the better!
3. Put the crushed eggshells in a bowl, pour some white vinegar into the bowl, and just enough white vinegar to cover the eggshells is fine. When the vinegar and eggshells react chemically and release calcium ions, the vegetables can take the opportunity to absorb nutrients!
4. When fertilizing the vegetables, do not pour the eggshell vinegar solution directly into the vegetable pot, otherwise, because of the relatively high concentration, it will burn the vegetable roots and new seedlings. It is best to use it after diluting it 30-50 times!
5. Grind the eggshells into eggshell powder and put it in the flower pot. It can not only improve the soil but also enhance the soil's permeability and improve the soil's drainage. The vegetable roots growing in such an environment will definitely grow stronger and stronger!
2. Watering vegetables with egg white solution makes them smooth and delicious
1. Crack the egg, remove the yolk, and dilute each egg white with one liter of water. If not diluted, the relatively high concentration of egg white will attract many bugs. The diluted egg white solution can be used directly to water the vegetables!
2. Before watering the vegetables, we can pick out two vegetable pots for comparison (the one I watered is the one on the right)
3. After about 20 days the effect can be seen. The plant on the left is not as vigorous and dense as the one on the right! The plant on the right is obviously 1 time bigger than the one on the left!
Note:For this fertilizing method, it is best to use it when the temperature is low, so as to avoid insufficient dilution causing the potting soil to stink.
3. Bury eggshells in the soil, and the vegetables grow extra strong
1. Eggshells can also be buried at the bottom of the vegetable pot. They do not have to be only chicken eggshells; quail eggshells, duck eggshells and so on are all fine too!
2. Prepare a toothpick, use the toothpick to poke a small hole in the bottom of the quail eggshell, and then it can be buried at the bottom of the vegetable pot. Then when planting vegetables, the quail egg will slowly ferment and pass nutrients into the soil to supply what the vegetables need. In this way the vegetables will grow stronger and stronger!
