From 2013 to 2018, through six summers, from not knowing what to do the first year to being calm and unhurried now. The succulents have long since gotten used to wind and rain along with me, and even in summer they keep whatever color they have. Grown outdoors in spring, summer and autumn, indoors in winter. Every year at the end of April I move them to the suburbs and put them on the most ventilated rooftop, without shade, and roughly from mid-July to August I shelter them from rain. After October 1st, when nighttime temperatures drop sharply, I move them indoors. That is how they have spent five years of outdoor growing.

About watering: My succulents are large and old, and having drunk rainwater year-round, their root systems are quite well developed. Every year starting in autumn I begin changing the soil, and this continues roughly into spring, when I prepare to move them outside. I have 30 cm large pots and also thumb pots, and I place large and small pots interspersed directly outside, watering once every 4.5 days. When there are consecutive rainy days, they rely on the sky for food. In spring, succulents that have just been repotted are placed outdoors in full shade for about one to two weeks to establish roots, then given normal sun. In short, ventilation is essential; with good roots, summer is not a problem. Most succulents with problems are caused by poor ventilation or unhealthy roots.

About soil mix: a 1:9 ratio, with more grit. In short, do not water unless dry; over time you will naturally figure out the trick to watering.

About medication: twice a year with small white pills, once every half year, and no mealybugs. No other medication. And yet every year the severe ones push out flower spikes, and a single plant can push out more than a dozen. If I used medication, wouldn't it be even more frightening? In summary, it should be related to drinking rainwater; they all grow quite robustly.

For beginners, there is always the desire to find some fast and good way to get closer to the experts, but the experts also summed up their experience by stepping over the corpses of succulents. Everyone's environment and soil mix differ, so their care methods differ too. In short, you still have to measure things according to your own actual situation, and you must never be careless.

To me, growing succulents is like raising children: three parts hunger and cold. Since I cannot give them a natural environment, I try my best to understand the needs of each succulent and to create an environment that suits them. What succulents love most is nothing but sunlight, and plants cannot do without water either. With good enough ventilation, healthy roots and enough sunlight, naturally the succulents will show you their beauty. Over time, you will naturally develop your own experience.

Below I will share some recent conditions.
