Spider plant yellow leaves and scorched tips in autumn? Use 1 kind of water and make 1 more cut, and in 7 days it turns lush green

Spider plants and pothos stand side by side as the "two treasures" of the home, and whether at home or in the office you can often see traces of them. Especially that elegant spider plant, whose popularity is no less than pothos, and it likewise has a very strong air-purifying ability, and is just as easy to keep alive, without needing much effort.
Although spider plants are so easy to keep alive, many flower lovers still run into all sorts of problems while growing them. Just recently, many flower lovers said that their spider plants at home either had yellow leaves or scorched tips, which was really distressing to look at, and they truly did not know what to do. So how do you grow a spider plant with lush green leaves and a good plant shape?
First we need to understand the growing habits of the spider plant, and then make slight adjustments according to our own care environment. Spider plants like a warm, humid and semi-shady environment, are not cold-tolerant, fear high temperatures and strong direct sun, are not drought-tolerant and do not tolerate salinity or waterlogging, and their optimum growing temperature is around 20 degrees. If you want to grow a spider plant whose leaves are so glossy they shine, you only need to manage water, fertilizer and soil well.
Spider plants, like pothos, only need to be placed in a cool, ventilated spot when grown indoors; if grown outdoors, they should also be placed in a cool spot without direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves easily dry up and do not grow soft and smooth, and a bit of scattered light is enough.
Good potting soil is the foundation for a spider plant's survival. If you are repotting and adding soil yourself, it is best to add some base fertilizer at the bottom of the pot, such as well-fermented fertilizer cakes and the like. I know a flower lover who loves growing pothos most; she always adds dried sheep manure at the bottom of the pot, then lays a layer of pine needle soil on top of the potting soil, and puts some small clay pebbles in the soil mix. She is very willing to spend on it, but that pothos really grows extremely lush, and with such devoted care it truly is grown very well.
Besides the nutrients provided by the base fertilizer, after a spider plant has grown for 3 months it enters a rapid growth period, and at this time it needs regular topdressing, otherwise insufficient nutrients will cause yellow leaves. Every half month, use a general-purpose organic nutrient solution rich in nitrogen for the spider plant: take 1 ml and dilute it with water 500 times, then water it evenly onto the soil. The organic nutrient solution is fermented purely from plants, is relatively easy for the plant to absorb, has zero added hormones, is green and environmentally friendly, and is also relatively reassuring to use at home.
When we have grown the spider plant very well, we should pay attention to check whether roots have grown out of the bottom of the pot; if roots have grown out, it needs repotting. When repotting, just move it into one size larger than before. For those growing curly spider plants, you can choose a tall pot, with a height and diameter of about 30-35cm, so that when the spider plant trails downward it will look very beautiful.
Spider plants are foliage plants, and water evaporates relatively quickly. In autumn the weather is dry, so morning and evening we can mist them to increase air humidity and keep the leaves tender. Although spider plants like humidity, they should not be watered too much either; when you see the potting soil become dry, water it thoroughly. Beginner flower lovers can use a plant and soil tester to help: just insert it into the potting soil, and through your phone you can see changes in the potting soil's moisture and fertility, which is simple and convenient.
Once these basic care steps are done, we should also regularly prune the dead leaves and runners along the edge of the pot to keep the leaves fresh, and occasionally turn the pot's position so the spider plant grows evenly and the whole plant shape looks full.
