After enduring the torment of high temperatures and scorching sun, we enter the cool and pleasant autumn, which provides a good climate environment for the growth of roses; however, during this period, roses also need strengthened care, paying attention to the residual damage brought to roses in the late summer. At the same time, autumn is the growing season for roses, and only by letting the roses eat and drink their fill can they show the delicate beauty and charm of autumn flowers.

1. Feed the basal fertilizer well

The choice of basal fertilizer is actually very important: one is that the amount must be sufficient, and the other is that it must be chosen correctly. For basal fertilizer, the most economical is chicken manure. Well-fermented chicken manure is black powder. When using it, it can be mixed into the potting soil, and the ratio can be 1:1. Chicken manure lasts a particularly long time, but in the later stage its nutritional value is relatively low. At the same time, because chicken manure contains relatively more nitrogen fertilizer, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers must keep up in the later stage to ensure sufficient nutrition.

The most practical is compound fertilizer. The effect of the fertilizer is particularly obvious, it lasts a relatively long time, and the nutrients are relatively comprehensive, but it is not naturally formed. Gu Liang does not really recommend using this kind of fertilizer. This kind of fertilizer is not suitable for flower pots, because it is especially easy to cause soil compaction. The content of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is relatively high, but if not controlled well, it is relatively easy to burn the roots.

There are also the relatively numerous organic fertilizers on the market, with many varieties, but one thing can be told to everyone: if the organic fertilizer is relatively hard in texture, then I advise everyone to try not to buy it.

2. Drink the top dressing well

Starting in early autumn, roses that need repotting should have their pots changed and basal fertilizer added. For those not repotted, we must diligently apply top dressing to the roses. For top dressing, fermented rice washing water or fruit peel water can be used. But this kind of fermented water has relatively weak fertility, so we must apply top dressing frequently. About every 10 days, apply once to the roses a diluted 500-fold fertilizer water to replenish sufficient nutrition for the roses.

Another kind of fertilizer is compound fertilizer mixed with water. The principle of fertilization must be remembered: apply thin fertilizer frequently; otherwise, it is easy to burn the roots and cause yellow leaves, which is very troublesome to deal with. The specific amount for mixing compound fertilizer with water is 1 to 2 small handfuls mixed with about 20 jin of water, put into a spray bottle and poured. If it is observed that the roses are growing very vigorously, top dressing can be temporarily slowed down. The rose flower's demand for fertility is high only relatively speaking.

When growing roses, understanding their habits is very important. Only by understanding the growth habits of roses can you prescribe the right remedy when problems occur, and it is also easy to get a full pot.
