Many people, when growing flowers, worry that their plants won't thrive or will die, so they water and fertilize them every day, but often the flowers still don't grow well, or even fail to survive. Actually, when growing flowers you shouldn't be blindly doing things; learning a few small tricks can make a big difference. Not only will your flowers grow vigorously, you can also easily become a flower-growing expert and never worry about your flowers failing to thrive again. So what small tricks are there for growing flowers? Here are a few to share with everyone, so you can easily become a flower-growing whiz.

Sesame oil to repel ants

Anyone who grows flowers regularly surely knows that ants appearing on flowers is very normal, but if ants appear, the harm to the flowers is significant. However, many people don't know that the common kitchen sesame oil is the natural enemy of ant-type pests. When growing flowers, apply sesame oil around the small holes of the flower pot or near the ant nests on the flowers, and it will do a great job of repelling ant-type pests, so you no longer need to worry about ant infestations.

Baijiu to promote blooming

When growing clivia (Clivia miniata), if stunted growth occurs, you can water it with baijiu, which can help it reach the flowering period faster. When watering with baijiu, pour one-third of a bottle of baijiu into the clivia pot every half month. But when pouring, be careful not to splash it on the stems and leaves of the clivia. Note, however, that this method should not be used on other flowers, to avoid burning the seedlings.

Using fat to grow flowers

Many people may doubt that fat can be used to grow flowers, but it's true. Take the epiphyllum (Epiphyllum oxypetalum), for example: fat is its best nutrient. Especially during the growth period of the epiphyllum, feeding it a bit of fat can make its leaves grow lush green and its flowers bloom continuously. When using fat to grow flowers, be sure to cook it first, then chop it up. For an epiphyllum with a diameter of 20 cm, place two pieces in the pot, and it can be used for a whole year.
