Friends who like grafting, especially those who like grafting cactus-type plants, should all know about something called a rootstock, right! That's right, it is the "base" on which plants are grafted and which provides them with nutrients, known as the cutting wonder tool! It is Pereskia!

Pereskia belongs to the cactus family. Although it really does not look much like a cactus, it is absolutely a grafting wonder tool! Generally, using cactus to graft Christmas cactus is the most suitable!

Pereskia does not go dormant in summer, so it also grows very fast, and after grafting it will provide the branches with plenty of nutrients. One advantage of using it for grafting is that you do not have to fear failure; even if it fails, you can just cut off that section, and the wound will heal very quickly without affecting the overall growth.

Flowers suitable for grafting onto Pereskia include: orchid cactus, night-blooming cereus, Easter cactus, Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, Parodia, Schlumbergera, Cleistocactus, rat-tail cactus, and so on.

Below, Yatou will still take cactus as an example to properly explain this grafting wonder tool to everyone!

1. Choose a relatively thicker branch of Pereskia, so that after cutting it will have relatively sufficient nutrients! Then prepare the Christmas cactus branch! The length should be about 5 cm.

2. Choose the position to graft, make a cut on the Pereskia, and split it open directly with a blade! Then insert the Christmas cactus branch into it!

3. After grafting, clip each grafted leaf with a small clip to secure it. Then put a plastic bag over it!

A small Pereskia can be used to graft many Christmas cacti. Perhaps you can try grafting different flowers and plants onto different branches!
