New Taipei City Shulin Red Yeast Rice Culture Festival - New Options for Seafood Platters

The New Taipei City Shulin Red Yeast Rice Culture Festival has entered its 12th edition since it was first held in 2007. A promotional press conference was held yesterday, officially kicking off this year's event. The adorable mascot Red Yeast Rice Baby joined the Shulin District Director in introducing the event schedule and announcing the official start of the Red Yeast Rice Culture Festival.

The highly anticipated Red Yeast Rice Culture Festival will be held on September 15, 107 ROC era (Saturday) from 4 PM to 8 PM at New Taipei Municipal Shulin Senior High School (No. 8, Zhonghua Road, Shulin District). Last year, a record-breaking crowd of over 5,000 people flooded the venue for the annual Red Yeast Rice Culture Festival. Unlike the traditional Chinese red yeast rice dishes of previous years, this year Amy, the head chef of a renowned British cuisine restaurant, was invited to demonstrate making red yeast rice tartar sauce on-site at the press conference. Paired with British-style fried fish made from Alaskan deep-sea cod, it is described as refreshing with a slight tang and rich layers of flavor. Through combining Western cuisine with Shulin's local red yeast rice, it creates a diverse and healthy flavored diet, bringing citizens an exclusive delicious taste.

To celebrate the 12th Red Yeast Rice Culture Festival, the event day will feature world golden chef champion and baking artisan Xu Yanbin joining the mayor to make a giant 90 cm "Creative All-Red Bun." With numerous activity booths on-site, be sure to visit the service desk to get the "Good Fortune Stamp Collection Raffle Card."
