Lung qi deficiency may also be caused by irregular eating and drinking

Nowadays people's living standards have improved, social development is ever-changing, and the content, forms and social engagements of work and life are diverse and colorful, and uncontrolled lifestyle phenomena such as excessive drinking and overeating are widespread. Over time, whether it is excessive fatigue or irregular eating and drinking, it will plant the seeds of disaster. So there is a common saying, "Thirty years ago people seek illness, thirty years later illness seeks people." Some may even soon fall ill due to deficiency and damage of qi and blood or of the organs.
For example, irregular eating and drinking over time will damage spleen qi, and if one is overworked, it will also lead to deficiency of spleen qi. In traditional Chinese medicine, the spleen governs transportation and transformation, and when spleen qi is damaged and insufficient, transportation and transformation will be abnormal, and the essence of water and grain cannot normally nourish the five zang and six fu organs and the tissues and organs of the whole body. Especially the lungs: in traditional Chinese medicine it is said that the spleen is the mother of the lungs, and when spleen qi is insufficient, it will directly affect the normal operation of lung qi and lung function, that is, lung qi deficiency is prone to appear first.
In traditional Chinese medicine, "earth fails to generate metal" means that because of irregular eating and drinking or excessive fatigue or the influence of disease, spleen qi becomes insufficient and affects the generation of lung qi, forming dual damage to the spleen and lungs. Moreover, when the spleen's transportation and transformation are abnormal, water and dampness tend to accumulate and become phlegm-dampness obstructing the lungs. These are all cases of spleen deficiency affecting the lungs, so traditional Chinese medicine says: the spleen is the source of phlegm production, and the lungs are the container for storing phlegm. This is the initial manifestation of functional abnormality and also becomes the basis for causing other pathological changes.
When spleen qi and lung qi are insufficient for a long time, it will lead to insufficient source for the generation and transformation of qi and blood, and the lungs will lose nourishment, and the lungs' functions of diffusion and descending, as well as the distribution, movement, excretion, dredging and regulation of water fluids in the body, will be reduced, and it will also lead to deficiency of lung yin. The lungs are interior-exteriorly related to the large intestine, which in turn affects the functional performance of the large intestine, and so on, forming a vicious cycle with endless pathological changes. If it drags on without treatment, it can develop into severe syndromes in which pathological changes of the five zang and six fu organs transmit to one another or one organ fails.
