Just thinking about having a big terrace makes me happy. After all, I really love plants. I can't even fit all my succulents at home, and the windowsill isn't enough either. So for plant lovers, having a big terrace is a very happy thing - you can plant all your favorite flowers and plants.

Speaking of the experience, having a garden or a sky garden in a noisy street, planted with colorful flowers and plants, feels as if all the noise is shut out, finding a piece of tranquility and peace for yourself. When you're tired from work, you can calm down and take a look. Plants are like a piece of candy in life - that's probably what it feels like.

If I had a big terrace, I would plant a bunch of succulents, especially the Crassulaceae ones that love sunlight. Up there they can get more sunlight, and the succulent leaves can become more vibrant. Unlike a windowsill, where they can't get too much sun. I could also plant some climbing vines around. An unenclosed terrace means being in the natural climate, with good ventilation. Ventilation is a very important point in succulent care, no matter the season. Poor ventilation can easily lead to root rot, turning to mush, leaf drop and other problems. Good ventilation, on the other hand, helps the plant's roots breathe.

You can design some tiered plant stands on the terrace. Besides being attractive, they're also good for viewing and watering. But you need to take safety measures to prevent things from falling - safety is the most important thing. A few days ago I saw a succulent enthusiast who had nowhere to put their succulents, so they tied them to the outside, like the method in the picture below. As you can see, doing this is very dangerous - it feels like they could fall at any moment. Love flowers and plants, but safety is the most important thing. Be responsible for yourself and others!

Healthy succulents can be grown outdoors. Some succulents are very tough - even in cities that people complain have harsh environments, you can still grow them outdoors on a terrace, such as many of the well-known common varieties like Dongmeiren (Graptopetalum paraguayense), Blue Bird (Echeveria 'Blue Bird'), Qiuli (Graptosedum 'Francesco Baldi') and the like. But for some varieties that are recognized as very hard to get through summer, don't blindly worship them and try them. For example, growing Echeveria derenbergii outdoors - the truth may be that there are taller flower pots around it, and medium-to-large succulents creating a shading and ventilation effect for it.
