For those of you who want to grow azaleas, the azaleas you buy from the flower market are generally grown in greenhouses, and when you bring them home from the flower market, without the greenhouse environment, this easily causes azaleas to develop yellow leaves and wilting. At this point you need to take some measures!

1. First, you should figure out the condition of the azalea's root system

Azaleas grown in greenhouses have a very good growing environment and proper care, so once these conditions are missing, leaf drop occurs. In comparison, it is like a pampered child who is suddenly sent to live in a poor area, which makes it hard to adapt.

2. Measures

(1) For a newly bought azalea, you should give it as much air humidity as possible and keep its potting soil moist. Do not place it directly outdoors in cold wind. Those of you caring for it at home can place it on a south-facing balcony that gets sun.

(2) In winter and early spring, give it plenty of light and keep the temperature no lower than 12°C, preferably between 18 and 22°C.

(3) Once you place the azalea in one spot to grow, do not casually move it around, so that drastic temperature changes do not cause the azalea to struggle. If the azalea's young leaves wilt, this means it lacks water. If the potting soil is not dry, then you should spray water on the pot and the surrounding environment to increase the ambient humidity.

(4) If you find that the azalea you bought has already suffered root damage, at this point you should first nurse its roots. If it still cannot recover, then you should remove the azalea's flower buds and keep only a few of them, which reduces the azalea's consumption of nutrients. After it recovers, carry out normal care operations again.

(5) In autumn, we should focus on spraying water and use watering as a supplement. At this time the climate has gradually begun to cool and the temperature has also dropped, so the azalea's potting soil no longer dries out so easily. Once you water it too much, root rot can easily occur.

(6) Prune it. If the azalea has yellow leaves or diseased branches, these can also easily cause it to drop leaves. At this point you should promptly cut off these branches and leaves, so that they do not consume too many nutrients.

If your azalea starts dropping leaves right after you buy it, then you should pay attention to it promptly. Once you notice these signs, you can first refer to the several situations mentioned above, find the corresponding solution, and solve this problem in time!
