Teacher Xiaoye teaches you all kinds of plant care knowledge!

Pothos is a green plant that flower lovers especially adore, but there are still some flower lovers who either overwater it and end up with root rot and yellow leaves, or underwater it and let it dry out to death. Today Teacher Xiaoye is here to introduce a little trick for fixing pothos, to bring your pothos back from the dead. Hurry up and learn it!

Give your pothos a little buzz cut, and in 10 days it will be covered in tiny new shoots

Never think that just because the leaves and stems of your pothos have dried up there is no saving it and immediately pull it out. As long as the stem above the roots is still green, that means the pothos root system is healthy. At this point we just need to cut off the dried-up parts, and after a period of care we will see the pothos bursting out of the pot again!

Remedial measures:

1. Keep at least one growth bud at the base of the pothos, and cut off all the other dried-up parts!

2. Place the trimmed pothos in a ventilated spot for care, avoid strong light, and water immediately once the potting soil dries out. During normal care, mist the pothos surface frequently to keep the environment humid, which helps the pothos sprout!

3. If you want the pothos to sprout quickly, you can cover the flower pot with a layer of cling film or a plastic bag, and poke a few holes in it. This keeps in moisture and lets air through, helping the pothos sprout faster!

4. After about 10 days, you will see the small green buds emerging on the pothos stems!

5. After the small green buds emerge, we should place the pothos in a spot with plenty of sunlight for care. During normal times, remember to mist the pothos frequently to keep the pot moist, and the pothos will quickly fill the pot, a whole lush green stretch!

Your pothos has root rot? Hurry and be ruthless - give it one cut!

Autumn has arrived, and quite a few flower lovers will find that their pothos is nearly dead. The main reason is too much watering in summer causing root rot, but a pothos with root rot can still be saved. As long as you give it one cut, it can come back from the dead and fill the pot!

One: Stems and leaves healthy, root system rotting

Remedial measures:

1. If the pothos only has root rot and most of the stems and leaves are still healthy, then we can cut off the healthy stems and leaves, divide them into 8-10 cm small sections, and keep one node and 1-2 leaves on each small section.

2. Soak the cut stems in carbendazim for 20 minutes, then just insert them into the soil for cuttings. The soil for cuttings can be made by mixing 3 parts peat soil and 1 part perlite soil.

3. Water the cuttings thoroughly, place them in a spot with diffused light and good ventilation for care, avoid strong direct sunlight, keep the pot moist, and cover the flower pot with a plastic bag or cling film with a few holes poked in it.

4. The pothos cuttings will sprout small new shoots in about 7-15 days. Once you see new shoots emerging from the pot, you can move the pothos to a spot with plenty of sunlight for care!

Two: Leaves turning yellow with severe root rot

Remedial measures:

1. If you find that the pothos root rot is fairly severe or a large number of leaves have turned yellow, cut off the healthy stems, remove the yellowed leaves, cut the stems into 8-10 cm small sections, and keep one node on each section.

2. When cutting the stems, it is best to choose ones that have aerial roots at the nodes, as these take root faster.

3. The soil used for cuttings is also a mix of perlite and peat soil. Place the end with aerial roots facing down, lay it flat on the soil, then water thoroughly for care!

4. During normal care, mist the pot surface more often, and place it in a spot with diffused light and good ventilation for about 10 days, and you will see the small shoots emerge!
