In our daily life, every time we finish cooking and lift the pot lid, a lot of water drips down. At times like this, we really need a pot lid drainer. But buying a dedicated drainer seems a bit wasteful. Don't worry, below, Little Exquisite Life teaches you how to upcycle and make your own drainer from an idle empty oil barrel.

1. Prepare materials: one idle, washed empty oil barrel (or a plastic barrel of the same size, such as a wine barrel), one utility knife, one pair of scissors, one lighter.

2. Use the utility knife to cut along the bottom 1/3 of the oil barrel, and set the bottom aside for later use. (PS: Use your brain, don't waste the top part either, you can still use it for other things.)

3. Use scissors to cut the bottom of the oil barrel into the shape shown in picture 3 below. At this point, the prototype of the drainer is ready!

4. Use the lighter to gently scorch the edge you just cut, to remove burrs, and after scorching, the edge will become harder and won't wobble.

5. Okay, try placing the pot lid on it. Now the water on the pot lid will flow into the groove at the bottom of the oil barrel, and won't run all over the place!

PS: 1. It's simple and economical to make, and when it gets dirty you can just throw it away and make a new one without feeling bad.

2. As for how to clean a peanut oil barrel, you can prepare some eggshells, crush them and put them into the barrel, add hot water and shake hard, and after a while the residual oil will come off. Don't waste these eggshells and the cleaning water either, you can compost them into flower fertilizer.

As long as you're willing to use your brain + your hands, life is full of refinement everywhere!
